PC does not meet minimum VR requirements

robsorin
Honored Guest

Hi,

I have a pretty nice PC: Intel 9600K, NVIDIA 4070, 4TB M2.2280 solid state drive, 64 GB DRAM4, several USB 3.0 ports Windows 11 etc.

Yet the Meta PC app keeps complaining that my PC does not meet the minim requirements?

Why is that and how can I stop that? It's a misleading notification and it's simply wrong.

Hello,

I did review them and my PC is better even than your recommended config.

I attached screenshots done on my PC from CPU-Z and GPU-Z.

Last screenshot shown how your app does not seem to detect properly my config and says is below minimum.

Thank you for patiently waiting @robsorin! From what we saw in your screenshots, it appears that your PC exceeds the minimum requirements, so this is quite puzzling. To help us develop a better understanding of why you're receiving the error message stating that you don't meet the minimum requirements, please answer the following questions below.

  • Are you utilizing Air Link or Link cable?
  • If you're using a Link cable, what specific cable are you using?
  • Is it Meta branded? Have you ever been able to connect to this computer using PCVR before?
  • We'd appreciate it if you could check if your PC's software is up to date.
  • Could you check if your PC's software is up to date?

Your reply will help us piece this puzzle together. We're looking forward to your reply!

Hello,

Below are the answers:

  • Are you utilizing Air Link or Link cable?

Air Link all the time. But this error appears before I start Meta Link. It appears right after I start the app.

  • If you're using a Link cable, what specific cable are you using?

As I said above, no cable.

  • Is it Meta branded? Have you ever been able to connect to this computer using PC VR before?

Meta is NOT branded. And yes, I was able to connect. Prior to RT X 4070, I had an RT X 2070 and got the same error. At that time, I was using a Meta Quest 2.

  • We'd appreciate it if you could check if your PC's software is up to date.

Not sure how to check for updates as your app does not seem to have a Check For Updates section. What I could see is this: Meta Link App Version 62.0.0.235.346 (62.0.0.235.346)

  • Could you check if your PC's software is up to date?

Yes, my PC is up to date. NVIDIA Drivers are up to date, Windows is up to date.

Thank you for confirming that additional information, and we sincerely apologize for the delay in our response. We know how constant notifications can really hinder our gameplay, and we absolutely want to get to the bottom of this for you.

Considering your compatibility meets our minimum requirements, we would like to collect a bit more information for a deeper look. Please confirm the following information:

  • Does this alert stop you from accessing and playing your games?
  • Do you still receive this alert when connected via the Quest Link cable?
  • Have you attempted re-pairing air link?
    • In Quest headset:
      • Navigate to the Settings menu
      • Ensure "Air Link" is disabled/toggled off

Hi,

Here are the answers:

  • Does this alert stop you from accessing and playing your games?

Not really. I haven't noticed any issues because of the warning.

  • Do you still receive this alert when connected via the Quest Link cable?

As I said before, I get the error all the time. When I launch the app, the error popups up immediately. Instantly is there. Does NOT matter if the link is WiFi or cable.

  • Have you attempted re-pairing air link?
    • In Quest headset:
      • Navigate to the Settings menu
      • Ensure "Air Link" is disabled/toggled off

Yes, many times. No effect. As I said, it popup up right after I start the app.

Thank you for the quick reply! By any chance is your graphics card a 4070 Ti Super?

If you're the author of a thread, remember to mark a reply as the Accepted Solution to help others find answers!

No, RTX 4070 only. No Ti, no Super.
