PCVR Not Working On Quest 2!

Hello, my Quest 2 is going on 3 years now, and I just tried playing Tactical Assault VR, and it ran for a second, and then it permanently froze. My Quest says it meets the system requirements for PCVR, but on Quest Link, it said there was a system problem, but previously, with a worse computer, Tactical Assault VR worked great with my same Quest. I now have a new PC with an RTX 3050 (PC) and an Intel i5 12400 which both should be more than compatible with PCVR. Is my headset just getting old? Is it the game? My PC? Or is there a different problem?

  1. Is your headset able to run games fine while in standalone mode (not connected to PCVR)?
  2. Are you using PCVR via Quest Link or Air Link?
  3. Is your headset currently up-to-date on updates?
  4. What exactly are your PC specs, and are you using a desktop or a laptop?

I don't know what I did, BUT IT WORKS NOW!! I just played a few games of Tactical Assault VR and everything worked great! Thank you for the help!

Hello there, @ChimkenNugget12! We would love to team up with you and see if we can figure out why your system is freezing while trying to play in PCVR. We also appreciate you sharing your specs for your current computer. We can definitely understand your concern, and for us to have a better understanding of what's going on, we want to ask you a few questions.

 

  • Are you able to launch other applications within PCVR without issue?
  • Are you using any anti-virus applications and do they send you a message during the process?
  • Is the windows account you're using the admin user account?
  • Have all the drivers on your PC been updated and are you running the latest version on your Quest 2?
  • Are you able to do PCVR on your old PC currently?

Hello, thanks for responding. My drivers for my GPU and Quest are both on the newest software. No anti-virus messages. I cannot do PCVR on my old pc. I ran Payday 2 VR and it had the exact same problem. My Windows Account is the Administrator account. I still cannot run any games on PCVR.

My quest works with standalone games, and I tried quest link but that just shuts down instantly when it connects to my PC, and Air Link freezes the games.  My headset is up to date on updates. I have a desktop with and an intel i5 12400, an RTX 3050 (PC), 16gbs of ram, a 512gb SSD, and a 1tb HDD, and Windows 11 Home.
