I recently tried playing TWD Saints and Sinners on the Quest 3 with airlink and tried it with SteamVR as well. It was not a smooth ride, it stuttered like crazy. Mind you, I have a 3070ti and a ryzen 7 3700x, it should be okay to run pcvr. The only thing that I could see being the problem is that my pc is connected to a wifi extender with an ethernet cable, but the router is all the way upstairs above me, it would be insanely difficult to get it directly linked to the router. Should I buy a dedicated router for VR, a wireless access point, or just give up on PCVR altogether and just rebuy the game on quest?
A Wi-Fi extender isn't recommended for best performance. You should have your PC connected directly to the router for best performance. We suggest either moving the PC closer to the router or move the router closer to the PC to utilize a direct ethernet connection.

I already knew that would be the best option but sadly I cannot move it. There other people in my household and I know they will refuse to move it. Anyway, is there something else I can attempt, maybe a wireless access point? Or maybe straight wifi would do better than using the extender?

Dude told you that his Airlink experience sux (probably because of his network setup) and your advice was "if you having trouble with airlink, mayby try airllink" 😄 No, noone neads that kind of assistance 🙂
