PTC V69 Quest Pro - Massive Stuttering / Lag in Virtual Desktop

bowow

I played on Virtual Desktop yesterday while on v68 and everything was working great.  This morning, my Quest Pro updated to v69 PTC.  Now any time I enter VR in Virtual Desktop, everything stutters and lags horribly every second or two.  Even the passthrough and Meta OS itself seems to lag if I pull it up while in VR with Virtual Desktop.  Nothing else has changed on my end except for the v69 update.  Numerous other people have reported this issue in the Virtual Desktop Discord with the v69 update as well.  Reverting to v68 resolves the issue.

Hi again, @bowow!

The problem appeared on v69.0.0.266, but since my headset has updated to 69.0.0.404 I have not had the issue.  Others have also reported that things seem fixed with that update.

Thanks for getting back to us and letting the community know how you fixed that, @bowow! We're so glad to hear that the recent headset update was able to get everything working as normal. If there's anything else that pops up or you need assistance with, please don't hesitate to give us a shout. We're here to help make sure you're all set!

I've also noticed this has been resolved on this latest build.

Hi. The Bug is NOT resolved. I received the update 69.0.0.576 some days ago here in Switzerland and since then its awful to play pcvr in Virtual Desktop. It is stuttering all the time. With V68 everithing went well. I have not changed anything in my setup beside the v69 update. Cheers.

Not a problem for me with non-ptc v69 (version 69.0.0.576.352) with my Q3 and QPro/rtx4090.  Maybe give Linlk or Air Link a go.  Using Air Link at 200mbps dynamic bitrate works almost as well, as VD, maybe a bit smoother.  If Air Link had hevc 10bit, I probably wouldn't even bother with Link, lol!
