PTC v63 - DCS crashes on Link

Explorer

Hello,

This is a cross post from my post in the PCVR forum from 16/2/24. As reported by others, a version of the v63 PTC (at the time, an update released on 15/2/24) caused a crash to desktop when running Digital Combat Simulator. Switching off the public test channel fixed the problem.

Now that v63 is being released as stable, has this issue been addressed?

Meta I hate you you Fcuking Id*ots with a passion. This has been an issue since your newest update and we cant even roll back because you as*holes suck at your jobs.  There was a work around when turning off PTC but you guys managed to ruin that as well. DCS has confirmed it is an issue you morons created. So thanks for that you useless POS

Yes, as you all may know, DCS has worked great with our Meta devices before our recent update.

We understand this is an amazing game that we don't want any of you to continue to miss out on. We can suggest you all submit a bug report and see if that will do the trick for you. However, we would like to inform you all that it will be up to DCS developers to update their app to make it compatible with our current software. Please feel free to reach out to us if you come across any other questions, and we will be more than happy to assist!!

VERSION 63 DOES NOT WORK.   Have to uninstall and reinstall as version 62, DCS works fine.  Then without auto update on, it updates to 63 and can not play DCS again.  2.3gb download each time to play dcs.  FIX ASAP

Dear all,
My Oculus Rift 1 just come to update, and my  DCS MT VR does not start anymore. I have the splash screen and after few second, DCS is closed with no UI error message, and nothing in dcs.log, . Yesterday I had no isssue.
Without VR, the game run.

I don't know how remove the last update in Oculus Rift 1 :(, if anyone has an idea, it will be really appreciated.

best regards

My system has been running fine (Quest 1 / Link cable). Today I went to start DCS World the same way I always do, and it refused to start in VR. It only showed the DCS World client running as an app on the virtual desktop in vr, not in full immersive VR.

I checked and there was an auto update about 14 hours before (between my successful session last night which worked fine, and this session which failed).

Restarts did nothing. Only hacking a reversion to a previous version of the oculus-client and oculus-runtime folders fixed it for me.

If it's a bug, please fix it. If you're intentionally bricking older headsets to force upgrades, well I might reconsider that Quest 3 and switch to a different brand.

Please provide an official way to revert to previous versions. V63 broke my Quest 1 with DCS.

I have the same issue with a quest 3, I'm unable to start DCS World in VR mode since this morning. Many of my friends are experiencing the same with quest 2 and 3. I guess it's something related with the new version of quest link or the update to V63.

I have read it is impossible to revert. Just Meta being Meta, don't forget, they're still just Crapbook. I should have spent more on a better VR from a different company. Because this is what $500 gets you from Meta. A paperweight.

Please, provide us a way to downgrade software or give us small update to fix this
