PTC v66 - Spatial data isn't saving in between game sessions

Lemonsquasher
Explorer

Every single Game/App is using wrong spatial data. Room, Boundary and Physical space adjustments do not matter. Then only way to get the proper spatial info, is by deleting all Spatial data and redoing a new ROOM from scratch then right after that the app will recognize the proper data!

Later, if started again all is messed up height, orientation all screwed up. This happens with several titles, like FruitNinja, Spire, Stride etc ....

Hey @Lemonsquasher, just checking in to see if this got fixed for you

"I Have Found That People Lie, Most Often Deceiving Themselves. Not So The Dead. The Dead Are So Very, Very Loud. And Yet, Lying Is Not In Their Nature. It Is So... Humbling, To Listen To The Dead Speak."

Why shoudl it be fixed? Did META fix it?

The only way to fix this is turning off LAY Down option.

I didn't hear back from you after I mentioned the factory reset so I wanted to see if you still needed help. Did you get a chance to try that out?

"I Have Found That People Lie, Most Often Deceiving Themselves. Not So The Dead. The Dead Are So Very, Very Loud. And Yet, Lying Is Not In Their Nature. It Is So... Humbling, To Listen To The Dead Speak."

NO it did not, except mess more things up by getting all setup again.... as I mentioned the only "fix" is to turn off Lie  Down mode. Did you read that? So something is really buggy here. And suggesting to factory reset a device all the time as a solution is not a good way.

Yes I read your previous response. A factory reset is a common troubleshooting method we use for bugs such as these. Are you using the headset in laying down mode when you run into this problem or does switching that setting happen to correct the issue?

Hey, just dropping by to check on the thread. Any changes?

"I Have Found That People Lie, Most Often Deceiving Themselves. Not So The Dead. The Dead Are So Very, Very Loud. And Yet, Lying Is Not In Their Nature. It Is So... Humbling, To Listen To The Dead Speak."

Why do you keep asking this? How should it self HEAL? I told you the only fix possible is turning off the lie  down option. If not all games will use wild positions and heights without any way to reset it.
To answer your question:  no it is not resolved and it is a bug that needs fixing. Same with the wrist button in v66 it confuses existing games and does not behave the same as in the old "palm mode".

Thank you for getting back to me so quickly. I am trying to ask you questions to get more info on what actually going on. I come back and ask if there have been changes because I have not heard back from you. Does reverting off of PTC help at all with this?

"I Have Found That People Lie, Most Often Deceiving Themselves. Not So The Dead. The Dead Are So Very, Very Loud. And Yet, Lying Is Not In Their Nature. It Is So... Humbling, To Listen To The Dead Speak."

I think you do not understand what I'm writing. It is not solved, the only fix is what I multiple times mentioned. All your suggestions did not work (factory reset, standing on one leg). Anyhow, maybe you check it out and try playing Stride (this months game). Before you test follow my description I gave you
1.) setup some rooms

2.) Leave the space

3.) Turn off Quest

4.) Turn on Quest

5.) Come back to the room/space

6.) Rund Stride

BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAMMMM you are now 10m high! Congrats have fun doing anything form now on!

This is on v66 with lie down turned on, turning it off fixes it (as I mentioned in every single post).

UPDATE

When Lying Down mode finally came out, it wouldn't save my spatial data. I tried using these forums to bring up this issue, and I got ignored and didn't get a single response from other users or Meta Support for a very long time. When a Meta Support person finally replied, they gave me the run around and kept telling me to do things like using my headset or phone to submit bug reports. Then, when I asked them to walk me through how to submit a bug report on the website, they completely stopped responding. And a long time went by and I didn't even know that Meta  fixed the Lying Down mode because no one @'d me or replied to me. But thankfully, I discovered on my own yesterday on August 23, 2024, that the Lying Down mode is finally working right. I only had to wait 10.5 months after purchasing the Quest 3 to be able to use it, but hey better late than never! Thank you, Meta! I had got bored with gaming and had given up on gaming, but now with Lying Down mode, I will be doing a lot more gaming now. Thank you so much! Also, not only is spatial data being remembered now, but we can also tilt the VR screen to whatever angle we want. We don't have to look directly at the ceiling when playing now. I always use a pillow under my head and that usually has my head at like an 75 degree angle. It's nice that I can play games at an 75 degree tilt, or any tilt that I want or need, instead of 90 degrees.
