Hi,
Does anyone know why on earth i have to manually allow every single app regardless of the age? There are PEGI 3 & 7 ames that are blocked and i need to go through the whole list to unblock them. This is hands down the most ridiculous system ive ever come across, PlayStation allows me to set a limit of games he can access and if its lower than that it automatically allows and i can manage them individually if needed. Not this though... Not only have I spent the last 2 weeks jumping through the same hoops over and over to finally be able to proceed past the payment stage of verification but now they are making me spend however long it will be unblocking games he is old enough to play.
Also why are they forcing my hand? There are games I am happy for him to play that are older but they block them, he is my son not Zuckerbergs. I am the one who says what he can or cant do, I supervise him and know what he is able to do and whats ok for him to see. Honestly this entire experience has been the worst experience ive ever had from a tech company and i have a feeling this is going to be the bane of my life until i can hand over his account. In all honesty i wish i had just lied and put his DOB older than it is just so it could be managed as an adult one becuase this is just outright stupid. It is clear its been developed by people without kids who asume all parents are bad ones who dont communicatie with thier kids and lack trust.

To add to this I now have allowed all apps, regardless of age because I am happy with what he goes on, but guess what? ITS STILL NOT WORKING. my parental control app says he is allowed to use it but the headset with him says to ask for approval, i get the notification, click it and is says he is allowed. Ive tried blocking and unblocking and no joy. How have you messed this up so badly? Honestly I didnt think today could get any worse with regards to this and I just keep uncovering more and more bugs. Do you even have a test process? If i allowed any of my software or apps to be released with this many issues I would be fired, but you guys just do what the hell you want because you are the all seeing all knowing powerful Meta. I'm done with this, I really dont want to be involved now but I am stuck.
My adivse to any parent reading this, set up your child as an adult and keep an eye on them, the parental control is hands down the worst out there. you have to allow EVERY singel app regardless of ages rating, including PEGI 3 and PEGI 7 but even then some work some dont. Oh and also so apps say he is too young even though its PEGI 3 i.e. the IIS experience app!
Meta you really need to sort this out because you messed this up and likely dont care and wont fix it anytime soon.
So my second piece of advice to parents is BUY SOMETHING ELSE! either set it as an adult or buy another brand because Zuckerburg Inc really messed this up.

Totally feel your pain. You are further in than I can get. Check out my messages re being unable to confirm I am an adult for a parent-managed account. BTW, I still do NOT have a single individual nominated to communicate with me and resolve the issue. My son's account got blocked when they found out he was under 13. I am now up to wasting around 30 hours trying to resolve this.

Mate that's where I was for around 2 weeks, I just kept trying and emailing and kept getting the same bone replies: have you tried a different card? No f'ing s**t? Never thought of that... Is the card in your name? Noooooo I used Zuckerberg's card... Have I contacted my bank? Yes! They said it was an issue with Meta not any of my 3 banks... They have really, really messed this up. There are reports that they missed entire countries off the list so anyone in those regions are totally screwed! All I can recommend is keep trying, mine eventually just randomly worked!

Do you mean just keep trying to make the payment? And your examples are spot on, same grlarbage I have been hit with.

Yes mate, I just kept trying every other day or so multiple times, eventually whenever I sent the original message here it just worked. I've tried Visa and MasterCards both credit and debit cards and this particular one was a MasterCard Credit card if that helps at all. I had tried it a few hours previous and it didn't work then I tried again. The only thing I did different was the VR itself showed a message so I followed those instructions on there telling me to log in and enter a code, logged in via my son's email as I've always done and then did the same steps as previous attempts and it worked 🤷:male_sign: apparently you can verify by ID too but there is no link on the pages I saw and the link they sent to me via email took me to a language settings page

Thanks. I only have a debit card to use. So how do you change it from the kid's account to the parent account on the headset? And my son can't do anything with the headset - I think

Oh you don't do anything on the headset, it shows a message saying to go to a link (similar to the one in the email) and then to enter a code and it then takes you to the same pages we have seen many times. I don't know if doing it that way made a difference at all bit worth a try. It shows a 6 or 8 letter code I think
