Party connection issues

Hello all, 

I tried to start a call with one of my buddies tonight and when I did it kept giving me a notification of I am connected to the party and can mute my microphone or someht5ing along those lines. I couldn't hear my friend and he couldn't hear me. I switch my internet to my phones hotspot and it worked, any idea why it wouldn't be working for my internet. .I have a 5ghz internet, switched it over to my 2.4 and it also seemed to work then. No clue on what is wrong with it. It almost seemed like I was joining and dropping the call every 5 seconds. Any help would be appreciated.

When did you first notice this?

Are you able to send us a copy of the error message you're seeing?

Is the headset and router in the same room?
