I need help fixing something, my headset for the past 48 hours has had a glitch where it turns on pass through then goes to black and it won’t let me access my menu or it will show up for a split second and then disappear. Idk what to do I’ve tried restarting it and boot loading it. Nothings working. I don’t want to factory reset it or buy a new headset. What do I do?

I have the same issue. Pass through enables itself and then messes up Supernatural workouts. Hopefully this is a temporary issue, otherwise my headset is worthless to me.

So what happened?

Having the same issue. Mid game (Population One). A t random times my headset blinks into pass through, then black screen, then back into game? Have all latest updates, clean sensors and plenty of light. I play in a large room so no boundary issues.

Hey there @NAC_TAZP0T
We have a suggestion that you can try to resolve this issue;
Clear your boundary history. Bear in mind that if you have multiple accounts on the same headset, boundary history will be cleared for all accounts, not just the account you are currently using.
Press the Oculus/Meta logo on your right controller
Click on the clock on the left side of the universal menu
Select Settings
In the settings panel, select Boundary
Select 'Clear Boundary history'
Redraw your Guardian boundaries by selecting 'Adjust Boundary' from the Boundary settings menu
Please let us know if this helps.

Greetings from the Midwestern US, Tazpot. If their solution doesn't work I may have a better one... After going back and forth many times with support and nothing working, I finally came across someone in tech who had an idea that instantly solved our issue. He (David, I think) thought it might be an issue with the internal sensor. He had seen this kind of thing before... There is a little glass sensor in the headset between the lenses, offset towards the top (at least on the Quest 2). He recommended using a small piece of paper towel to cover the sensor. I tore it off a sheet and taped it on with tiny pieces of scotch tape on either side. Had my doubts, but it worked instantly and we haven't looked back. No more gray screen freezing on anything for a solid month, so I consider the problem solved (fingers crossed).
Although we didn't get into the mechanics of why it happened, my hunch is that moisture did something to the sensor (I'm not even sure what it senses!). I can remember spraying some very light high tech cleaner to clean the lenses shortly before it began happening, which is why the hunch. Now, if I need to clean the lenses, I dab a little cleaner onto a microfiber cloth to wipe it off. Anyway, hope that works as well for you as it did for us. Cheers.

Hey there Steve, thanks for the suggestion buddy I will that a shot. I tried the 'clear boundary' advice and it hasn't sorted the problem, just run a few games and it happend a few times. I will try what you suggest and let you know how I get on! 🫡

Good luck!

Thanks Steve, taping over the internal sensor seems to have done the trick, played a bunch of games last night and it never glitches into passthrough once! 🥳 Thanks for your help buddy, appreciated!
