When trying to open people app it reads , “create a Meta account”. When I close this it spins and never opens. I have a Meta account.

No you don't as it's on the cloud. You will have to reconnect your headset as if it were brand new. Then you will have to download games/apps from your meta library. They will be exactly where you left off.

MAKE SURE you have auto back up on in your settings. If not you may loose some data.
