Hi,

I just got my rift, installed it today and played around with it for 30 minutes or so, what an awesome experience, however when I returned to experience some more, the left lens suddenly displays poor image quality and horizontal lines 😞

I have restarted my computer, unplugged the HDMI cable from the GFX and also unplugged it from the headset, but it didn't change anything 😞
Can anyone help?

I just tried to disable SPUD and now it looks great again :smiley:
Does anyone know what consequences disabling SPUD might have?

It might be a coincidence, try enabling SPUD again

Yeah, it must have been a coincidence, 'cause the issue is back 😞

I have the exact same issue! Mine occurred when I ran the Steam VR, the horizontal lines never went away.
Did you manage to find a fix?

Hi. Seems to be similar to the issue which affects some Quest 2 like mine.

But in my case, the issue is permanent and affects both lenses.

try to disable spud

Open Registry Editor (regedit)

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Oculus (do New -> Key at HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE if Oculus doesn't exist)

New -> DWORD (32-bit) Value -> UseSpud.

Keep it at 0.

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Oculus\UseSpud should be a DWORD set to 0.
