Primary accounts can not cast to Chromecast devices?

So I have BOTH a Quest 2 and Quest 3.  I can Cast to other Chromecast devices with the Quest 2 but not so with the Quest 3.  Why is that?

Ryzen 7 5800X3D | GSkill 32GB DDR4 | MSI RTX 4090 | Gigabyte Aorus X570 ITX | Samsung 980 Pro 2TB PCIe/NVMe

Still broken.

I have an Android TV settop box with built-in Chromecast and an actual Chromecast with Google TV.

The Quest 2 can see the settop box and cast to it, and it used to work on the Chromecast just fine as well. Now it won't even see the  Chromecast when I want to cast. Everything is connected to the same subnet, using either CAT6 or 5ghz WIFI.

Weird.

Hey there, @ray.sagius. Being able to share your VR experience with others watching, we understand wanting to see things on a bigger screen. While Chromecast is still not fully supported by our VR devices, we do recommend checking out these steps within our Meta Quest Help Center to find other ways to get connected to your TV.

we need someone to tell that [redacted] to get the meta quest FULLY supported on the Google Chrome cast, I can't stream on the TV anymore or play VR with the family this is pathetic.

Same problem here: just got a quest 2 and I added my account I have google for everything in my house, all my tvs have it and I’ve been trying to cast to the tv but on the meta app, which is new compared to the ones I see on YouTube, there’s no option for casting to anything else. I have Verizon Fios 1gig internet and my phone is connected, chrome cast, and obviously quest. I can’t find a way to cast. Why is that?

Make sure the TV/Chromecast is on the same Network as your quest (Same Subnet - i.e. 192.168.1.xxx)

Hi guys,

It still doesn't work for me. At first I thought it was the router. I then switched from the Fritz!Box 7590AX to the Fritz!Box 5690 Pro, but I still can't get a connection. But don't get any error message. I see my Chromecast (Sony TV Chromecast integrated) under the camera app of the Meta Quest 3 and can also click on Stream then Streaming Started appears and the red dot lights up in the Quest 3, the TV switches but the picture remains black. I tried everything, TV factory settings, Quest factory settings and both routers also factory settings. 5GHz Wifi 5 and 6GHz Wifi 6 and 7 Tested. But the screen stays black. The only strange thing is that the TV and the Quest 3 recognize each other and there is no error message, it acts as if it were working but the screen remains black as I said. With V59 it worked without any problems, what could that be? I'm at the end with my Latain, thank you very much for your time and help

Everything is up to date, router latest FW, TV latest FW and Quest of course too. You removed it in an update of Quest 3 that it works because with FW 59 everything worked without any problems, but now it doesn't have anything to do with any of my devices that supposedly doesn't support anything. If this isn't fixed soon, Quest 3 will go back. My partner and I like puzzles. I want to play in VR escape rooms and my partner, who unfortunately suffers from unresolvable motion sickness, would like to help me solve puzzles on the big TV and play along, so to speak. You ruined it for us. And if the function doesn't come back quickly, I'll turn my back on Meta and try out the new Pico 4 Ultra. It's easy. Stop with your copy and paste answers, not all of them support Chromecast, that's a lie because it always worked with all of these devices without any problems.

Hey there, @trifft_nix87 !

We understand that your issue is persisting and we want to do what we can to help you get this resolved.

To try and narrow down what could be causing the issue. Can we ask you try cast to a computer to see if this works.

You can do this by following these steps:

  1. On your computer, go to oculus.com/casting with Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge and log in to your Meta account.
  2. Put your headset on and press the Meta Button on your controller to open the universal menu.
  3. Go to Camera
  4. Select Cast
  5. Select Computer If you do not see your computer listed, make sure that your headset and computer are on the same Wi-Fi network.
  6. Select Done.

If this works, what you could try is to cast to a computer/ laptop, then connect this via HDMI to your TV so you and your partner can still enjoy your VR escape rooms.

However, if the issue is persisting please do reach out via private message so we can try and help you in more detail!

I have to apologize, I have now reset the Google Cast APP under System Apps Updates on the TV, deleted the cache and all the settings of the app and now it suddenly works again without any problems. Awesome, I can do puzzles with my darling again, thanks for the quick support from Meta, of course I'll stick with it and just enjoy it.
