Pro controllers won't connect to quest 3 after v65 update

Ugh.. this just started happening.  I assume it is a problem that came with one of the updates to the headset?

After putting my Quest 3 headset to sleep after playing, the pro controllers no longer automatically connect when it wakes up.

The only thing that fixes it is restarted the headset.

It just so happens that I have two pairs of pro controllers.  This problem occurs with both.

Restarting controllers doesn't fix it.

Factory reset of controllers doesn't fix it.

Turning headset on/off doesn't fix it.

Have to restart the dumb headset every time I play now. 😞

Most of us, if not all, are having this problem.

@MetaQuestSupport, have y'all made the developers aware of this severe issue?

It is not an isolated incident. I do not enjoy having to constantly reset my headset just to use the controllers I spent $300 on.

This is unbelievably frustrating. Roll back the v65 update or do an emergency patch. My Pro controllers are useless.

This is not an isolated incident, when is this getting fixed?

I can't play any of my games because my $300 controllers don't even work anymore.

Placing them on their charging stand for a few minutes is the only fix I have found, and it is extremely inconsistent. What in the world did you guys mess with in these last two updates?

Same problem here.

It is getting worse every update. I believe that Meta is responsable to properly test if all its hardware works as they advertise. And needs to maintain quality control for each update. If not they should be transparant about known issues and not leave their customers in the dark about problems with the hardware.

As developers we work with 5 headsets, before Quest Pro, now Quest 3 and we use the Quest Pro controllers on all of them. All our controllers lose tracking often. They get offset, they disappear. Before this update we noticed that placing an Infrared flood light often helps to remain tracking a bit more continuous. Also this and all lights in the room need to be consistant.  But none of this matters after update v65 since the controllers just do not show anymore.  349 euro is a lot of money for something that is broken by software.
And to make things worse there is no option to downgrade the headset or the controllers.

I really hope that this issue will be fixed in the PTC this week since we need to present to our clients and NEED to use the Pro controllers for that.

My quest pro controllers have become unusable recently.  They either connect with no tracking or they connect, don't show at all in pass-through and can't interact in any way other than bringing up the menu when I press the menus button.  I factory reset both the controllers and the headset and they worked for a few minutes but as soon as I get into a game via quest link I lose tracking. Now when I reboot it's a struggle to get them to track even in the home enviroment. Any idea?

idk. i have a quest 2 and I don't have the Quest pro controllers.

Hello, I'm having the same issue.  My pro controllers turn on, connect to the Quest 3 and they cease to function beyond that.  I can push the meta quest button but I have no tracking of any kind.  I miss my pro controllers that I spent 300 dollars on.  Please fix this issue soon. It was right after the update that this problem perked up.  I haven't had a problem before.

BTW, unpairing and repairing doesn't work.  It may appear for a second and then it is just gone again.

Same thing for me with 2 pro controllers on quest 3 - since the 65 update I now need to do a full 10 second reset cycle followed by the 4 second pairing cycle before the controllers fully way up.  As the original post says, the oculus button works straight away on wake up and so you can open and close the menu but it does not track the controllers and eventually complains they are not tracking and need to be restarted.  I am on

headset runtime version 65.0.0.546.341.596.219.110
not sure what the PTC is
App version 268.0.0.10.109
