Problem with Quest 3 & Elite Strap w. Battery & Charging Dock

Hello,

I recently got a new Quest 3 (512GB) along with the original Meta Charging Station (with the batteries for the controllers and the pins for charging the headset) and the Elite Strap with Battery.
With my old Quest 3, I was able to charge it via the Charging Station without the Elite Strap, but it couldn’t charge the third-party external battery I was using at that time.
However, with the new Quest 3 and the Elite Strap, the charging LED on the headset didn’t light up, and the headset didn’t charge either.

And now here’s the crucial part:

Even after disconnecting the Elite Strap battery, the headset wouldn’t charge via the Charging Dock. When I tested it again with the older Quest 3 (128GB), it initially charged on the dock, but after connecting the Elite Strap battery wouldn’t charge anymore, even after disconnecting it.

It seems that attempting to charge the Quest 3 with the Elite Strap battery attached on the original Meta Dock triggers some kind of fuse or protective mechanism that prevents the headset from ever charging via the pins on the bottom again.

This is disappointing because I specifically purchased the Elite Strap with Battery so it would charge on the dock, sparing me from plugging in cables.

Additionally, I’ve spent around €300 for the dock (with the admittedly elegant inductive charging batteries for the controllers) and the Elite Strap with Battery, when I could have had the same functionality (charge with cable) with a third-party battery strap for €30 without the dock.

Is there any advice on what I can do about this, or does a solution even exist (a Charging Dock that can charge both, internal and external battery, through the pins on the downside of the headset)?
