Problems WebXR MSEdge via Airlink

RJ81
Explorer

I use Airlink to connect to my PC and then normally I could start a MSEdge browser and open VR content by clicking on the VR icon (e.g., see video immersiveweb.dev).

Since January this year, this does not work anymore. I get a screen that says that MSEdge is loading, but the video doesn't start. I've already contacted Meta Support but their script could not help me.

Does anybody else experience the same issue?

Microsoft recommended to see if I could do a System restore to before January this year. I was also given a link to the official Microsoft VR document and a couple of links with regards to troubleshooting VR in MS Edge:

Hey there @RJ81! We completely understand how it feels to have issues using Microsoft Edge with your device. In order for us to look further into this we have a few questions we would like to ask so that we can get a better understanding of the issue.

  • Are you able to use other games and apps via AirLink?
  • What troubleshooting have you already tried?
  • Have you tried contacting Microsoft support?

We do recommend reaching out to Microsoft Support as well, since it could be an update with their VR integration that is causing this issue. You can reach out to them here. Thanks!

Thanks for your response,

I have played Tombraider DLC via AirLink which worked well.

With regards to troubleshouting I have done the following:

  • Did Windows update, update video drivers, update headset and update Oculus PC app
  • In Oculus PC app, logged off and logged on again
  • Uninstalled Oculus PC app, removed all Oculus folders from my PC (as indicated by Meta support), and reinstalled Oculus PC app
  • Install latest oculus drivers on my PC
  • Restarted PC and headset multiple times
  • Re-pairing AirLink
  • Hard reboot of headset and of my PC
  • Factory reset of headset
  • Did also a bunch of other stuff that Meta Support asked me to do, but did not solve the issue (e.g. toggle Game mode off in my PC settings, turned of VPN,  whitelist Oculus in my virusscanner)

For now, I'm following your advice in contacting Microsoft Support. I'll let you know their response. If somebody else experiences the same issue, I'm curious to know!

I'm showing this same issue on Firefox and Chrome too.
The WebXR websites don't even see that there is a headset plugged in.
Possibly OpenXR related?
