I have downloaded all required drivers. I was trying to use the Rift in Direct Mode, but it won't turn the headset on. It's just a black screen. In extended mode, it works for a second, then crashes and suddenly cannot detect the headset. Please help me.
It probably is the fact that I am on a laptop, but I figured because my laptop is on the higher end, I shouldn't have a problem. It says that direct mode is not supported. Would the fact that I am on a laptop contribute to extended mode crashing?
What kind of laptop is it? If it uses an Nvidia Optimus GPU (or AMD switchable graphics) then there can be all sorts of issues. Usually these are in Direct Mode, but Extended Mode can also cause problems in some cases. If you provide the logs I can try to take a closer look.
