Problems charging my Meta Quest 3 with the charging station

Hello community.

I need your experience and collective knowledge regarding problems charging the Meta Quest 3 with the charging station. I have been charging my Meta Quest 3 with the charging station since day one, but I have been having problems charging my Meta Quest 3 for some time now. The controllers are charged normally as usual, but my Meta Quest 3 glasses charge normally at first and then the indicator light changes from green to orange even when it is supposedly fully charged and flickers in intervals. Then the battery is automatically discharged again, for whatever reason. If I connect the USB-C cable directly to the glasses to charge them, the glasses are fully charged as usual and everything is fine. Does anyone have similar problems or has had experience with this in the past and what the cause might be? I would be happy to receive help from you!

Hey there @TobyJoop! On a Quest charging dock, a flashing orange LED indicates an unsupported adapter.

Can you please ensure you're using a plug that is at least 18w, or for fast charging around 40w/45w, and the USBC cable that came with your dock?

If the headset is charging and the light appears orange, that means that the battery is below 95% but above 10%. If you aren't noticing any changes in your battery life or the headset itself, it should be fine!

I hope this helps! 🍒

Hello and thank you for your feedback. Yes, I know what the LED colors mean. The problem is that I use both the original charging cable supplied and the original plug/adapter with 18W that came with the Meta Quest 3. It worked without problems for almost a year and suddenly it stopped working! 🤷🏼‍:male_sign:🤷🏼‍:male_sign:🤷🏼‍:male_sign:

Hi there!

If possible have you tried using an alternative 45w adapter with the charging dock to check if that alleviates the problem at all?

Are you using a facial interface accessory? If so, you can try removing this, as it may block the proximity sensor which can impact the power of the headset.

Also, you can try to see if the headset will load the boot screen after charging on the docking station and then exit out, and reboot the headset.

If none of the above help, please contact the Meta Support team via Private Message, as we will be able to provide further support.

Thanks very much!
