Problems running Asgard's Wrath

Really want to play this game but I can't get past the Kraken battle in the beginning of the game.  After defeating the Kraken my game crashes while loading in one of two ways.  I'll either get a message on my monitor that the game ran out of video memory loading textures or the game will just load indefinitely and task manager will show that its not responding.  I'm running a RTX2080, i5 9400f, 16gb ddr4 ram and a nvme ssd.  I've reinstalled the game on two different drives, disabled gpu overclocking, reinstalled the oculus app, reinstalled gpu drivers with DDU, nothing works.  Sent a support ticket to oculus and they had me run a diagnostic to generate a log file and told me my CPU isn't good enough? Sanzaru reccomends a i7 7700 whick is 4core/8threads... my cpu is 6core/6thread and I have no problems with other VR titles or flat AAA games.  Still waiting to here from someone at Sanzaru.  Any ideas folks??  If anyone suggests reinstalling win10 I'll just request a refund lol

I have the exact same problem. Out of memory errors and loading hangups. I turned all graphics settings to minimum and it still wouldn't complete the load for the scene after the kraken. I changed the Nvidia control panel image setting to max performance and it finally loaded the next scene which is the bar scene but then crashed twice in the bar. I am running an I7 6700K 16 gig of ram and a GTX 980TI. I have no problems with any other games and can see no reason why my system can't run this game especially since weaker systems than mine seem to be running it OK. I requested a refund. Maybe if enough people report this issue it will get fixed and I might buy it again if it does but in the mean time I have better things to do than troubleshoot this game. Just wanted to let you know you are not alone with this issue. Good luck.

Strange - I forced a massive super sampling 2.0 on my Rift CV1, Epic setting - using my i7 7700K, GTX 1080 8GB and 16GB ram. Your problems may lie beyond the hardware...

I'm using Forceware 417, maybe that can help?

ennead, did Sanzaru get back to you and were you able to fix the issue?

Try to contact Oculus Support and tell them about your problems - this way chances of getting the game fixed in a patch might increase. I don't think Oculus Support reads this forum a lot. Or post your problem on Oculus Reddit - Oculus Support monitors that forum.

I sort of had this problem, the game would crash every time i tried to go to Midgard. After some searching i found out i had set my virtual memory to have a set allocation(6gb).  I set virtual memory back to "let windows decide", rebooted and game now runs smooth as glass and no more crashes. I'm now on six quest in Midgard.  Good workout lol....
