Well this is a pickle. My son gave his sisters is Quest 2 for Christmas. He was logged on as owner of the account and when I was setting it up I just created a profile on the device and called it LandL.art. They have been using that account since Christmas and have won some in game rewards and have their friends list setup with that account. They asked me today about pulling screen recordings from the device and I determined that only the device owner could do that and that you can't transfer ownership to a new profile. I factory reset the device.. before determining if there was a way to pull the profile.
I have now created a Meta horizon account (which I am using here) though of course.. the account process said that the LandL.art account was in use. Is there any way to recover that account so they get their in-game rewards and such? Is the account somehow associated with my son's meta account who was the device owner at the time? I dont remember creatin an email for them at the time to sign up so I figured it was just a local profile till I saw that error that the account name was not available.
