I just put my HMD on an there is a 'purple comet' appearing in the upper left if my left eye - and a bit of the tail appears in the left eye (if I close my right eye part of the 'comet' disappears...
The HMD hasn't been mistreated, so I'm concerned there is a manufacturing flaw...

I am having the same problem, on the left eye, lower right, there is a purple comet looking artifact that is extremely distracting. Cannot find help on the issue, support only seems to lead to the forum, which is no bloody good.. it likes saying, "oh, you have a problem, go find the answer yourself - we're too busy!" - not what I would expect from a unit just 2 weeks old. At this point, going to spend a few more minutes looking for contact info to find someone who can help, or will just return to Amazon and get a different device. Sucks!

Step 1: Click on support at the bottom of the main page.
Step 2: Click on your device on the left hand side or under the picture of your device.
Do NOT click on the visit oculus forums then complain that the support links only send you to the forums. Click on Contact the oculus support team instead.
On the next screen, do NOT bypass the link that says "Click here to submit a ticket" Click on it. NOT the lower one that says "Try visiting the Oculus forum to get help from the Oculus Community."
