Quest 1 Stuck in Boot Loop

I got a bricked Quest 1 from my friend that doesn't load past the Meta loga, and turns itself back off and on again

Hey @ouiouiboi06. Have you Factory Reset the device yet? 

1. Turn off your headset.
2. Hold the power and volume down (-) button on your headset down simultaneously until the boot screen loads on your headset.
3. Use the volume buttons on your headset to highlight Factory Reset and press the power button.
4. Use the volume buttons on your headset to highlight Yes and press the power button.

The device should now begin the Factory Reset process.

Any luck? mine seems stuck on a boot loop never finishing a factory reset, never completed. I didn't really do anything to it it was just updating itself and then one day it got stuck on the meta logo and never got past I've tried standard Android recovery techniques but seems like nothing's working...
