The issue I’m currently dealing with started about 7- 8 months ago. I own two Quest 1 headsets and both have this same exact issue – I actually bought a second one thinking the first one was the problem. Prior to this issue starting, I used my first headset for multiple years without issue. This issue ONLY occurs while using wired Oculus Link, there is never any problems in standalone mode, and this specific problem doesn’t happen while using AirLink. While playing Beat Saber, sometimes the controllers will lose tracking and fly off into the distance, usually far enough that my guardian boundary grid appears. When this happens, the controller doesn’t just infinitely fly away, but rather it will stop somewhere within the VR space, and still rotate and move in accordance with my wrist, just not physically where it should be. Essentially, the headset seems to be losing tracking of the controllers positioning but not its orientation. After a couple seconds, the controller will snap back to my hand and work normally again. This issue seems to occur randomly. I can play for 20 minutes straight with no issues, and then have it happen 5+ times in 10 minutes. Sometimes the issue occurs immediately upon playing my first level of the session. Rarely, I’ll play for over an hour and have no problems. Playing slow levels vs. fast levels does not make a difference. This issue is not specific to either controller, they both have the issue equally – sometimes only one will lose tracking, sometimes both.
Things I’ve tried:
Things I haven’t tried:
I’m probably missing quite a few things, but those are what I can remember. In short, the issue causes brief loss of controller positioning, but not rotation, on two Quest 1 headsets across two different PCs exclusively while using a wired Link connection. The issue does not seem to be hardware related, as it has persisted into an almost entirely brand new system with a fresh copy of Windows, the latest Oculus Software, and the latest hardware drivers. The issue does not persist into the standalone Quest version of Beat Saber or AirLink on either headset, nor does the issue persist on a Quest 2 headset. Only Quest 1 on wired Link connection is affected. I'm really not sure what else to do at this point.

I thing they fixed it set the oculus software to PTC Channel and the in the Mobile app from the Quest 1 too
the pc software will tell you to restart you pc after that open the software and then it will say that you have to update the drivers let them update and wait for it to open again
The version should be Meta Quest Link App Version 64.0.0.359.367 (64.0.0.359.367)
I did these things and i played for 1 hour and nothing no tracking glitches
(i dont know if it will fix your problems too)

Hello there, @judyp1970, and thanks for bringing this issue to the community! We know that some folks can see the symptom you describe in games like Beat Saber, or others where you will not only have quick movements but also broad and sweeping quick movements, but we have not seen the issue isolated down to a Link connection only. In many cases, some of the troubleshooting steps you have already attempted resolved the troubles, so please keep in mind that the time and effort you have put into resolving this has been very thorough, and you've not been spinning your wheels in any sense, actually the opposite! You've helped eliminate many potential causes and we can look in a much smaller area for a resolution that we would have been able to before. We would really like to get a look at your log files to see if we can use them to help narrow things down further, but we'll need to get a case created for you to send them in. Send us a Private Message so we can get some contact information to create that case so we can dig into this deeper! Just click on our name to get to our profile page, or click here. Next, click "Send a Message" and we'll be able to see it shortly! Please remember, you must be signed into the community first to send us a private message. We'll be keeping an eye out for it!

I have the same tracking problems with the quest 1 and pcvr via link cable did you find out how to solve this?

Nope. I have no solution for you. Meta support is absolutely useless. They kept telling me to try things I clearly stated that I’d already tried, and kept bouncing me around to different support agents who clearly had no communication between each other. I’ve resorted to playing exclusively using AirLink while standing directly next to my router, which works well enough that the tracking issues don’t bother me anymore. It’s not quite as good as wired Link, but it’s my only options at this point.

I think it has something to do with the Oculus Software and the Quest 1 via link cable and i think they (could) fix this via an quest 1 update or something like that

I’ve come to the same conclusion as you. I’m pretty certain that at some point they simply pushed an update to the Link software that messed something up for the Q1, and I’d imagine it’s too late and not high enough priority for Meta to do anything about it now. I’d suggest either playing on AirLink or upgrading headsets, because there’s just no chance that this bug ever gets fixed.
