Since Onward will no longer be supported on Quest 1 how do I obtain a refund if the game was purchased a year ago? This bait and switch tactic happened also with Population 1 recently.
Will this be a common thread with all online games that are married to a device? When new more advanced devices are released, the previous models and support just get cut off?
Hey @BalkyDan! Your concern with getting a refund for a game you soon won't be able to access is understandable. I looked into it and, from what Downpour Interactive's posted in their FAQ for Onward, refunds for the game are subject to the Meta Quest Content Refund Policy. While you are more than welcome to try requesting a refund by following the steps listed here, I can't guarantee that it'll be granted since you've had it for a year.
In regards to your other questions, the Meta Quest team does not have any insight on that - this would be something that is completely up to the developers of apps this may happen to.

This is not only the responsibility of the game developers, as I contacted them also and they said that this was actually all due to the decision of Meta.
I've been in contact with small claims court to get this refund processed and to be reimbursed for my Oculus Quest 1.
I totally agree - I just discovered my onward no longer plays - I want my money back too!
