Quest 1 not connecting to mobile App after factory reset (Headset Not Found) (MEGATHREAD)

Realitias
Explorer

Hello!

I have a quest 1 that I used for a while and it worked normally. Yesterday I turned on app-sharing and added a second account to the headset and after testing something I deleted the second account again. After that, my Quest 1 was not showing up in the mobile App anymore for the main account. (wanted to enable Dev. mode again) I tried reconnecting (adding a new device), did a factory reset, installed the app, tried another Oculus account, tried another phone but it always displays this message [shown in the picture] after trying to connect vie the 5 digit code. Right now the headset is completely unusable because I cannot complete the initial connection to the app that is required. So I need a fix as soon as possible.WhatsApp Image 2023-05-17 at 17.17.50.jpeg
Thanks.

I have been hearing from support for the last two weeks they are working on a fix.  I think this is a lie and they simply want you to buy a new quest.  I am getting no where with support.  Support is no help and I keep getting the same response that the engineers have not responded to them.  I am very frustrated with quest right now and don't believe they are looking to resolve this issue.  I am ready to go to another VR as I have two very expensive paperweights at this point.

if you can get your hands on an Android device and download an older version of the App thru apk mirror I can pretty much guarantee that the headset will pair and work as it supposed to. I has the same problem wouldn’t pair to my iPhone 14 pro so i uses my old man’s Galaxy S21 Ultra and everything is how it should be now.

Hi there.
Today I got my headset back from support after a replacement process. I need to say that this is the second replacement process. The first one (headset did not boot) took 8 months , last time (this time due to pairing issues) around 11 days.

So after receiving it today, pairing issue has not been solved (headset is detected, but pairing process just hangs). I've tried with all these versions, with no luck:
180.0.0.8.107
193.1.0.15.104
193.0.0.15.104
209.0.0.6.106
213.0.0.2.111

I contacted support again... let's see if they propose a new replacement, because I'm getting the hang of it... 😛

Ive had a similar experience.  Contact over a month ago after resetting when my device wouldn't pair.  Initially very pleasant and offered to replace my device.  Then received 2 faulty refurbished devices that were in a worse state than the one i had that i had looked after.  Now received a third quest today.  Looks fine, but as with each of the 2 previous quest even despite their faults they still wouldn't pair.
I know some people are getting success using earlier versions of the app.  However, I've tried every version on each quest and no joy.  Android and even tried the apple app and no joy.

It occurs to me that the software version on the device i have now is also different from the one that was installed in my initial quest 1.  This one is stock as were my last 2 and as you may be aware each update carries updates to the software installed.  I know this as after rest of my initial quest 2 it carries the meta log, where these all carry the oculus logo.  Anyway even if that not the issue i am sick and tired of contacting them as for a billion dollar company they really couldn't give a toss about quest 1 users or divert the proper resources to fixing such a simple issue.  Its evidence when this issue took place and it doesn't take a genius to look at the changes, roll them back and correct the issue.  But its obvious that the changes made are for the quest 2 and quest pro and as such this is why they are not taking the most obvious route to resolve. Virtual reality - Virtually useless headset now.
