Steps i took to troubleshoot :

  • I did manage to connect the quest to my cellphone via hotspot.
  • I factory reseted the quest and retried to connect to the freebox via passwords and QR code.
  • I trued to connect the quest via the phone app.
  • Rooter was rebooted, i was in the same room etc.
  • We have all other devices connecting without problem to this rooter.

Thanks for your help

Hey everyone! I'm a bit late to the party for announcing this, but the PTC for V67 just started rolling out not too long ago. It sounds really promising that some of you are already reporting improvements after updating! For anyone else participating in the latest V67 PTC build, please feel free to continue providing your feedback and experiences—along with your full build numbers, so that I can continue funneling these reports to the team. I don't have confirmation on whether or not a fix was supposed to roll out for this PTC build, but I'm working on finding out anything more I can share from the team. Thanks for continuing to keep me updated with your feedback!

Update:

Hey everyone, its looking like some people are seeing their issue resolved by updating to the latest PTC. If you're interested in testing out the new PTC release, you can find more information for how to opt in herePlease keep in mind that the PTC is a test build for unreleased Quest software builds, so while your Wi-Fi connectivity may have improvements, it's possible that other features of the software could be unstable. If you prefer to stay on stable public builds, I recommend holding out for the live V67 release, which should hopefully be coming out sometime soon!

Today I got a Meta quest 3. I have 5ghz wifi. the router is connected to another router that is not 5ghz. I'm having trouble getting through the system update when I first start vr because I can't connect to the internet. It either says "limited connection" or "can't connect". I haven't found anything on the internet, please help.

Hi! Same issue

Hey there @NotMarra and @Meshcheryakov. We definitely know it is never a good time when you have to deal with WIFI issues. Especially when you just want to relax and do some gaming. We have shared some of our best troubleshooting methods for WIFI below, you can also find them here.

If you receive an error while trying to connect to Wi-Fi, you may need to connect your headset to another Wi-Fi network. Some possible causes for Wi-Fi issues with your headset include:

  • Captive Portals: A captive portal is a web page that prompts you to interact with it before connecting you to the internet. These are commonly used by public Wi-Fi networks in businesses, airports, hotels, and other venues that offer free Wi-Fi hotspots. This type of network will not work to setup your Meta Quest 2 or Meta Quest, but may work after your initial setup.
  • Weak signal: If your Wi-Fi network signal is weak, your headset may not see it. Try moving closer to the router (internet connection device), or switching to another Wi-Fi network that has a stronger signal.
  • Incorrect password: Make sure that you have entered your Wi-Fi password correctly. Try disconnecting from the network, reconnecting, and reentering your Wi-Fi password.

Before you begin Wi-Fi specific troubleshooting steps, please reboot your headset to see if that resolves the issue. To do this:

  1. Hold down the power button on your Meta Quest headset.
  2. Continue holding until you see a prompt in VR to reboot your headset.
  3. Select reboot, then try connecting to Wi-Fi again.

To change the Wi-Fi network your headset is connected to using the Meta Quest mobile app:

  1. Turn on your headset and open the Meta Quest mobile app on your phone.
  2. Tap Devices in the bottom menu, then select the headset that you are currently using.
  3. Tap Wi-Fi.
  4. Tap the new Wi-Fi network you’d like to connect to and enter the password, if prompted.
  5. Tap Connect to Wi-Fi.

To change the Wi-Fi network your headset is connected to from your headset:

  1. Press / on your right Touch controller to pull up your universal menu.
  2. Hover over the clock on the left side of the universal menu. When Quick Settings appears, select it to open the Quick Settings panel.
  3. Select Wi-Fi.
  4. Select the Wi-Fi network you'd like to connect to and enter the password.
  5. Select Connect.

2 weeks have passed, something has changed, did you manage to connect?
I just purchased a device, but I ran into the same problem.
I've already tried several Wi-Fi networks, and it's the same everywhere.
The recommendations that are written above are just an excuse.

Well after some reboots i waited some time and that worked, so...

Of course, it doesn't help me. There have been more than 15 or 20 reboots and the update is not progressing by any 0%.

Hey there @DeHb86! Just to verify, when you mentioned you rebooted things, what were the steps you took to do so?  This will help us narrow down any troubleshooting steps we might have to offer.

Hey @Gunstar_Tony ! We've noticed that you're having some issues connecting to your router. We understand that having a stable Wi-Fi connection is crucial for a great gaming experience, so we'd like to help you find a solution. Is your router using a mesh signal or any Wi-Fi extenders? Are you currently using a VPN? Instead of doing a factory reset, you can try rebooting your device after setting it up with your phone's hotspot and then attempting to connect to Wi-Fi again. Let's work together to get you back online!
