Quest 2 Air Link Stuttering and Blurry Graphics

I'm running an RX580 and an I5-8400 with my Quest 2 via Air Link. All of a sudden, the graphics are unbearably blurry and my frame rate is worse than an 1800 motion picture. I can't play the VR games I paid for on my Quest 2 that I paid good money for. I'm at my wits end and ready to sell the Quest 2 at cost in order to by an Index, but I'll try to get "help" first. How do I fix this extremely frustrating issue?

Hello there, @Br1zzz! We hate to see that you are having problems with your games acting up when you are using your Air Link. We know how having to deal with this is an inconvenience to your VR experience, and we're happy to look into this issue with you! 

 

  • Have you checked to make sure that there are not multiple devices on your Wi-Fi, or have you tried using a different network?
  • Have you checked to make sure that your GPU is up-to-date?
  • If you are able to, have you tried connecting your PC directly to your router or resetting your router?

 

Please provide as much information as you can about what you are experiencing. Once we have more information, we will be able to better assist you!

All of these suggestions have been standard for operating my Quest 2 with Air Link, to no avail.

After you click the link, please follow these steps:

 

  1. Click on the Meta Quest 2 icon. 
  2. Then choose "Accessories," then "Oculus Link," and then "Air Link."
  3. After that, select the option that says, "This does not solve my issue."
  4. After that, you will be able to send an email to our support. We also recommend that, as you are creating your ticket, you attach the logs from your computer as well. To attach the logs, please follow this link.

None of the “solutions” provided helped my problem in any way. Support also refuses to replace my defective item or refund my purchase upon return. All in all, my hard-earned money, and my respect for Meta, have been flushed down the toilet. It’s clear they don’t offer actual solutions to for their actual problems, and they don’t stand behind their products.

Hi there! I know the time this is taking away from being able to get you back in the VR world. I was wondering if you can provide me with the ticket number? That way I can leave see if there is anything I can do to get you the help needed!

I have the same problem but then when using the link cable, the Oculus menu and all games are extremely blurry. It appears as horizontal lines and dark spots.

Hey there, @jos.vdheijden! We couldn't help but notice that you are experiencing some display issues when using Air Link. We definitely understand how immersion breaking that can be and we'd love to help you get this issue sorted out as quickly as possible! Just to gain a little clarity on our end, has Air Link worked for you before? If so, is there anything new about your network, PC, headset, or play space? 

 

  • Network Changes - Network name change, new password, new placement, new ethernet connected device, new device(s) joined, new router, new modem, new ISP, added extender
  • PC - New Hardware of Software, new placement, change to Wi-Fi/Ethernet
  • HMD - Dropped/Damaged, New Accessories, recent Factory Reset
  • Play Space - New play space, new items in play space, new appliances in home, new home

If any of the above apply to your situation, please remove/undo any recent changes that are within reason. We will be standing by just in case further assistance is needed!
