Quest 2 Airlink Wobbly after stutter

StoutCrow

When using airlink with anything at random it will stutter for a second, then become extremely wobbly to the point I cannot play without getting nauseous. I can't figure out how to solve this, any help appreciated.

Hey there, @StoutCrow! We definitely want for you to be able to enjoy your time in VR in whatever way is most comfortable, and that can be hard if you run into display issues! We would recommend trying the following troubleshooting steps to see if they help out with display tracking issues:

  1. Make sure there are no other IR emitters in the same room potentially causing interference, or any small point light sources light LED string lights.
  2. Check if the issue occurs while the device is still on a flat surface without any vibrating objects nearby.
  3. Uninstall and reinstall GPU drivers, see Updating your graphics card driver for Oculus Rift S
  4. Update your Oculus app drivers:
    1. Close the Oculus app
    2. Press the Windows key + R on your keyboard to open the Run command
    3. Enter C:\Program Files\Oculus\Support\oculus-drivers
    4. Open oculus-driver
    5. Open the Oculus app and then try to connect your headset again

This can also be caused by damage to the device, such as dropping it. Let us know if the headset has suffered any falls recently.

I will try this, but please note I do not have a Rift S, so I do not know why I would need to update it's graphics card driver.

I tried everything but I still does it. It has been happening with Blade And Sorcery, (Which is the only game I have played on it in 7 months), but I remember it happening with other games as well.

Hey @StoutCrow, keeping your graphics drivers updated is important for any PCVR applications. Those steps are just listed as being for the Rift headset because it is PCVR only, whereas Quest headsets are typically used standalone. If you are still seeing headset tracking issues after going through those steps, we would recommend making sure that your personal files and app progress on your headset is backed up, then going through a factory reset to get the device back to default settings, and test again.

Hopefully that gets things back to normal for you!

Hello, I went out and bought a cable to plug into my PC, but after about 11 minutes of regular play it still occurred, so it is definitly through Quest Link, but not just Air Link. I have never expirienced this while playing on just the quest alone, and instead of 'Wobbly' I would describe the issue as my head movements being greatly exaggerated. I will try to reset it, if that does not work I will try to get it sent in for servicing or see if I could get a replacement. If you could provide some links to where I could do that just in case it would be much appreciated.

Thanks for getting back to us with the update. If this should continue following the factory reset please reach back out to us through PM. Please remember, you must be signed into the community first to send us a private message. Through here we can discuss other details and look into possible options. We appreciate your time, and have a great day!

A factory reset did not work after 9 minutes the issue started again. I will PM you soon.

We appreciate the update and we have received your PM to continue assisting through there.
