Just took my Quest 2 out of the box again after like 4 years. Was working fine when I booted it up. I could see my environment and set up the guardian well. Then it told me to update it. So, I charged it up and updated it with it still plugged in. Came back to find that it was stuck on a black (not turned off) screen. Was patient for a while and then tried rebooting it (several times) and it never worked. Always returned to the black screen. I tried this until I realized it wouldn’t work. I finally factory reset it after seeing under device info that the “Locked Status” was “locked”. Didn’t fix anything. Exact same issue came up. Nothing loads. Once it turns on, it goes to a black screen and never loads up. Soon after, I was trying to look at the device info again and it turned off completely. It doesn’t turn on anymore and when trying to charge it, no lights come on. I don’t have it paired to the Horizons app. In the past, I used the oculus app. I see that doesn’t exist anymore. So right now it’s unpaired, factory reset, and completely bricked. No clue what to do and very upset. It has been boxed up and taken care of since I last used it years back.

having this exact same issue after not using for a year or so, was working fine, did the update which caused a boot loop, did a factory reset and now will not turn on or charge. 😞
