I’ve had my Oculus Quest 2 for a few years, and i experienced controller drift for the first time on my right controller only about a year after using my headset, it didn’t bother me at first but only recently it got much worse. My right controller drift has gotten REALLY bad. I have rotation turned off in every game i have, because if i try to use my right joystick, the drift goes ballistic, so this forces me to having to turn in real life since rotating in games is basically impossible. But then my left controller joystick has started acting up this week, the drift makes me walk backwards so it’s basically impossible to walk in games since it keeps stopping me because my drift wants me to go backwards. Obviously games that don’t require the joystick like gorilla tag or beatsaber are still playable, but i still wanna have a full VR gaming experience with plenty of games that i can play without problems like RecRoom, FSVR, Vrchat etc. Does anyone have any tips to stop this controller drift that doesn’t require buying a new controller?
Assuming your controllers are out-of-warranty, the longest-term fix is to replace the joystick modules. It's a little fiddly but complete kits are available cheaply and the process is well documented on sites like ifixit.
