Quest 2 Controllers not working on Headset Startup

So, I've come across a very disgusting issue with my headset and controllers. I'm not sure why or when, but I can't seem to get my controllers to work with my headset when I turn it on. My headset turns on and it will ask me to check my surroundings for objects usually.

Now, my controllers are showing the mouse or whatever you want to call it to show that they're being tracked and moving. But, I can't seem to click on the menu after confirming my play space is fine. It clicks on the confirm option but nothing happens. I press on the power button to bring up the restart/power off screen and my controllers are still tracking but then I can't even hit those buttons to confirm anything, so I have to hold the power button to actually shut off the headset itself.

I've tried this process a few times before just giving up and factory resetting the headset. After I factory reset it, everything works fine for whatever reason. This was like a week ago. It's been almost a week and I'm dealing with the same issue once again now.

I've had the headset for about 5/6 years now and it's never done anything like this to me until last week.

Hello!

Thank you for letting us know the issues that you are having with the Quest 2.

We want our community to enjoy the best possible experience using our products, so we want to try and help you get back up and into it as quickly as possible!

You can try these simple steps if you haven't already.

  • Ensure your area is well lit, with enough light to see clearly, but no direct sunlight
  • Ensure your area is free of small lights such as Christmas lights, or LED strips
  • Ensure your area is free of reflective surfaces such as mirrors, glass, or polished marble
  • Ensure the tracking cameras are clean
  • Ensure your environment is free of any obstructions between the tracking cameras and the controllers
  • Remove unsupported third-party accessories that may affect tracking or controller detection. For example, controller and headset covers, controller attachments, etc.
  • Remove the battery from the controller for 30 seconds
  • Try replacing the battery with a new one

If you are still experiencing the same problem after checking the above then please let us know, and we can look at further troubleshooting the issue.

Thanks!
