I need some help, this has been a problem for about 3days now and i tried my best too try and fix it but it didn't seem too work, Every time i have connected too my computer using a link cable, my screen would freeze and zoom out after a few minutes and if i open up the quick menu with the right controller the screen turns black, The issue seems too fix whenever i restart my headset but it happens again after linking too the computer again after a few minutes, sometimes it happens faster then the last time, today it occurred after 30minutes of playing, then an 1hour after restart, then 20minutes and after the final restart it happened again after only 5minutes before i gave up playing my game
Solved! Go to Solution.

Thank you again for the information and the clarification on the experiences, @Jakobix! With this situation, due to the issues being isolated to being with VRChat on the Steam platform, we wouldn't really have much we can provide in terms of troubleshooting. I would again recommend that you are verifying that your system meets the minimum requirements for the Quest Link here. Even if you meet the bare minimum, playing VRChat on PC can have varying different levels of requirements due to the customization of other players being able to upload and use their own Avatars, which may not be fully optimized for every system to run. For any additional troubleshooting, because this issue is happening with VRChat specifically, you would need to contact VRChat support here.

From the looks of it it doesn't appear so but i never use it stand alone, i only use it for games i need too have my cable for, some other stuff i have tried when the game does it's weird thing i have tried walking over too my pc and just closing the game i'm playing and that doesn't help so it's not the game, the only solution i have found personally is just restarting my headset, When the game freezes and zooms out the screen only turns black when i open the quick menu on the right controller, i can close the menu but the screen remains black and i can't do anything other then just opening the quick menu but the menu itself is just blank with nothing there, on the oculus's app when this happens it says that the cable couldn't find the headset but it works fine after restarting the headset

Thanks for that information, @Jakobix! So since the issues seem to happen when using a Link Cable with the headset, this information leads to indicate the issues are based around the system being used, or the connection between the headset and the system, which means the cable being used might be unsupported or the connection isn't remaining secured while playing. Are you using a 3rd party cable, or the Meta Quest Link cable specifically?
With all that said, there are also very specific requirements that have to be met in order to use a link cable for your Quest 2 Headset for PCVR, which can be found here, please double check that you meet all of the requirements and not just partially. If you have not already, please try using the Air Link feature for your headset to see if the same issues happen, the steps for setting up Air Link can be found here.
Additionally, what game specifically would you be trying to play when using the Quest Link? Does this happen to any other games if it's just one game?

Well i mostly only use my Headset too play Vrchat using Steam vr, but it happens when i'm connected too the pc in general, i have used my headset for a while now and it hasn't had any problems, but these problems started popping up out of nowhere last week, it was completely fine before, at first i though it was because it had an update but even after i updated my headset it kept on happening, though it would seem that it happens alot more often after it freezes the first time, if i restart and try too play again it will freeze sooner then last time, it's also not a battery issue since it was around 60% when it started happening
