Quest 2 Link cable connection not working, just stuck on the loading 'dots'

When I go to connect my Quest 2 via quest link i just get 3 dots continuously and nothing else. It has worked in the past but since a software update on my quest 2 it hasn't worked since.

I have tried:

Logging out an in to apps.

Removing and reinstalling Oculus app on my desktop (including in safe mode and checking other files removed).

Enabled developer mode on the mobile app. 

Tried different usb 3 cables.

Making sure PTC is turned off.

Updating GPU driver (GeForce 3060).

Factory resetting Quest 2.

Does this happen every time a new update comes out??

Hey @gryphiz! We were scrolling on by and saw that you were having issues with your Quest 2 link cable not working properly. This is not the experience we want for our users and want to ensure we get to the root of the issue, so we would be more than happy to delve into this deeper for you. 

 

Just so that we ensure we are helping you to the best of our ability, we do have some clarifying questions:

 

  • Is your headset fully up to date?
  • Is this happening only with the Quest link or also with the standalone option?
  • Have you been able to attempt Airlink?
  • Have you attempted any troubleshooting steps aside from what our community member has previously posted?

The notification to accept the usb connection doesn't pop up anymore check the notifications bell icon and you can accept from there hopefully that works for you
