I use a wired link to my Quest 2 to play MSFS-2020 in VR, but recently Link has stopped working. I get audio but no actual video in the headset. The guardian still works, but I'll either get the 3 dots 'wait' symbol or nothing at all while the PC screen shows the home environment. All software is up to date and I've tried every fix I can find on the internet to no avail. My PC screen shows the steam or Oculus environment, but it's not reaching my headset.
PC is a Ryzen 7 with 32Gb memory, M2 drive and an Nvidia 2060GTX card. The link cable is a USB 3.0 which tests at 2.3Gbps so that's fine. It's not the Nvidia overlay, I'm not using a laptop with a built-in adaptor that needs disabled, Nvidia drivers are the very latest and OpenXR is set to OculusXR. I've tried Air-Link as well and it behaves exactly the same. Nothing loads in, guardian works, audio works but nothing is displayed until I pull the cable or disable Link in the headset and it returns to the normal built-in menu.

Update - raised a case with Oculus support and got the generic "update everything, reinstall Oculus" response. After removing all trace of the software and reinstalling and setting everything up again it still doesn't work. In a pre-emptive strike I've also factory reset my headset to see if that makes any difference and it's still broken. No video, only audio and guardian if I move too far.

Exact same issue my side. Im using the upgraded version of the kiwi cable and the newly stocked 128gb model headset. No luck so far in finding a solution online. Unfortunately trying another cable is pretty much out of the question... Too expensive to buy and ship another one to my country.

I have managed to get mine working again. I did test a couple of cables including USB-C to USB-C and others but that was not the issue. The problem appears to be with the Nvidia graphics drivers. I used a driver removal tool to take off the latest version and I rolled back to one from a few months ago. The link immediately started working again as normal. Nothing Oculus support offered worked at all.

Excellent thanks for the heads up. I will give that a go and report back

Hey there! We hate when this happens, we'll do our absolute best to get you back into the game again and get your Oculus experience back up to 100%! Below I've outlined some troubleshooting steps you could try to alleviate any potential link issues.
Are there any updates to Windows/GPU/USB?
Sometimes there may be outdated drivers or pending updates that could interfere with the Link and its performance. I've included a guide on how to check for updates to your drivers here! The article is titled for Rift/Rift S but is applicable to Quest/Quest 2 as well.
For Windows, there's an article on how to check for updates here!
If updates are found for either, make sure you restart your PC once they are complete, then try to use Link again.
Game Mode may conflict with some VR applications.
In Windows 10, there is a feature called "Game Mode". Game Mode appears to reduce or eliminate background processes, and focuses performance on the active game. This could interfere with the Oculus software, as it needs multiple processes running simultaneously to function properly. Try disabling Game Mode, then attempt using Link again.
Open the Windows Settings menu
Click on Gaming
Click Game Mode
Toggle Game Mode off
Conflict with settings in the Oculus app.
Sometimes you may be able to alleviate the issue by resetting the graphic preferences to default. I've included a support article on how to do this here!
Conflicting software.
There are a few pieces of software known to cause issues with Oculus processes; ASUS AI Suite or ASUS Ai Suite 3. This software is an all-in-one application that allows users to make modifications to motherboard components such as CPU, USB, Wi-Fi, LAN and more. When troubleshooting any issues that use devices affected by this software, it’s recommended to uninstall ASUS AI Suite, if installed, and test to see if the issue remains or disappears. Your PC may need to be restarted after removing this software.
If present, also uninstall Oculus Tray Tools, as it contains settings for resolution, super sampling, etc. that can impact performance.
Other Options.
Below are a few other options you could try if none of the above options work.
Try alternate USB 3.0 ports, after removing any non-Oculus USB devices, to help account for USB bandwidth and issues with specific ports. Stripping the connections to a minimum may be helpful; connect only the headset, as well as your mouse and keyboard.
Attempt to enroll in, or opt out of, the Public Test Channel using steps from the article here.
Repair the oculus PC Application using these steps. Once complete, restart the PC and attempt to enable Link again.
Submit a Support Ticket.
Collect Oculus Diagnostic Logs and submit them in a support ticket here so that we may look over them and confirm any conflicting software, PC/System updates and inconsistencies.
If you have any other questions or concerns, we'd be happy to help! Cheers!
