Quest 2 PC and Airlink Not Working

O_Houlihan
Explorer

This has been mentioned by numerous others. My Quest 2 PC and Airlink was working fine before recent updates. I tried with no success turning on and off PTC, PC Oculus app updates, graphics card driver updates, and a consult with a Shaman. I see Meta has identified there is an issue with some LAPTOP Nvidia GTX cards. I just want to point out I'm using a DESKTOP GTX1080TI, so the problem isn't isolated to the laptop cards. Additionally, unlike some others who have posted problems, BOTH PC link and airlink aren't working. With the PC link, I was playing Assetto Corsa, a driving game/simulator. When I attempt to play now, the tracking movements ARE reflected in what I see on my PC screen, so there is some info being transmitted through the PC link. However, there is NO VIDEO in the oculus headset. I'm using all the same game settings that worked prior, so the problem must be with the latest update.  Hoping there is a fix soon.

Hello there @O_Houlihan, having your headset display spaz out can affect your ability to enjoy VR. We understand how finicky PCVR can be, and we want to do all that we can to make sure you're able to see through the headset display again to have your amazing PCVR experience!

To narrow down this issue and get a better understanding of it, could you please review the following:

  • What are your PC specs aside from your graphics card?
  • Have you manually updated the graphics card from the NVIDIA website to the November 11th version?
  • Do you have any VPNs, firewalls, antiviruses, or data/packet/network managers enabled?
  • Have you encountered any error message or pop-ups?
  • What is the full version number for your v59 software update in the headset?
  • Have you tried on another PC with a friend or family member that might have a good gaming setup?
  • Disable the integrated graphics card.
  • Assign the dedicated card as primary.
  • Set your power settings to the highest performance.

Some troubleshooting steps to perform in the meantime:

Repair the Oculus PC Application:

  • Go to www.oculus.com/setup and click Download Oculus software.
  • Select Repair.
    • If Windows asks you if you’re sure you want to open this file, click Yes.
    • If Windows Defender prompts Windows protected your PC, click More info and then click Run anyway.
    • If your antivirus software restricts the file from opening, temporarily disable your AV and continue.
Please remember to re-enable your antivirus software once you've completed the repair.
  • Allow the repair process to run, download and install.
  • Launch the Oculus app.

Manually assign the GPU:

  1. Close the Oculus Desktop software
  2. Open Windows Settings > System > Display > Graphics Settings
  3. Select Classic App from the drop down and click Browse
  4. Select the OculusClient.exe
(By default, this will be installed C:\Program Files\Oculus\Support\oculus-client\OculusClient.exe)
  5. Click Options > High Performance > Save
Ensure the "High Performance" option has your dedicated graphics at the top of this menu.

Set Oculus Process Priority:

  1. Open Task Manager
  2. Go to the Details tab
  3. Find OVRServer_x64.exe
  4. Right click on it and select Set Priority
  5. Set this priority to High

We hope to hear from you soon!

When I look under the "Events" tab for the Oculus XRSP Interface, I see the following sequence:

Device Configured (oem46.inf)

Device Started (WinUSB)

Device Not Migrated

Clicking on Device Not Migrated gives the following information: Device USB\VID_2833&PID_0137\1WMHH842PA1284 required further installation.

What does that mean?

In the headset, Software version is 59.0.0.173.706.535795449

Runtime Version ism59.0.0.172.706.535797236

OS is SQ3A.220605.009.A1

Hey @O_Houlihan. Thank you so much for that information, we really appreciate it! We provided you with troubleshooting steps in our first reply to you, and we were just wondering if you have tried any of those troubleshooting steps. Once we know whether you have or not, we can then proceed further!
