All,
I'm sorry but I don't know where to go to get any answers on this (also don't really know how to describe it in a google search to find the answer).
I haven't been on my Oculus Quest 2 for quiet some time and I decided to start it up last night to play for a bit. When it first opened up there was a window that came up that was giving me instructions on how to link a device (or something ... not sure what it was exactly). I don't play the system often and it feels like every time I get on it I have to do some new sort of "linking" of accounts or devices or something and it gets old. So since I wanted to just play a quick game and I didn't have my phone on me I decided I would do that later. So the window had a back arrow in the upper left corner so I clicked on that and I was in my home virtual environment. Here is the issue ... now I CAN'T do ANYTHING. I can't get the main menu to pop up, I can't do any voice commands to open anything (games, browser, nothing). The only thing I see is the VR environment, a mirror (which is new), and the calorie counter above my head. The mirror does nothing except let me look at myself. None of the shortcut buttons do anything.
I would really prefer to not have to factory reset it because I don't believe I ever setup a cloud backup for it (like I said I rarely play it ... but I did finish a game and was pretty far in a couple other games). What can I do to try to fix this issue (hopefully without factory resetting it and losing all info)?
Thanks, in advance, for any help!

Solved the problem ... I didn't know how to force the Oculus to reboot but I did it and it came up with that screen again wanting me to link a device (why I would need to do this ... I have NO idea ... why can't I just play with the system? Why do I need to link my phone to it too?).

Hey hey @vbplaya, welcome to the forums! I know it isn't fun when you just want to get in the game and your headset makes you do something first. However, I'm happy to hear you were able to get it resolved with a reboot! Thanks so much for updating your thread with the fix. I hope it can help if others run into the same issue!
In the future, if you need to do a reboot, you can always attempt a simple restart by following these steps.
Regarding why you need to link your headset to a device, this is because the headset uses your mobile app to connect to your account. Typically you won't have to go through these steps every time you use your headset, but if you haven't used it in a long time it usually will have you connect again.
If you have feedback about the functionality, or have suggestions on how to improve it, I would suggest posting on the Ideas board.
