Quest 2 Right Controller Issues

Hi. 

The right controller for my Quest 2 has been having intermittent issues for a few weeks, but now has a permanent issue. 

It started with not pairing after putting in new batteries. So I went through the reset procedure as documented on the forum to unpair and re-pair and that seemed to work.

However, it kept disconnecting intermittently while using the controller very slightly and also with a bit more frantic movements. 

A few days ago, the white light started to rapidly flash on the right controller only. After around 20 minutes, it disconnected and the flashing stopped. Restarting it seemed to get it reconnected, but ever since, it has been blazing through batteries. The same batteries I have always used, and usually get around a weeks worth of gaming from, are now only lasting a day at most.

So now I have intermittent disconnects, and when it does connect, the battery power is going down at an alarming rate. 

I tried a reset of the Quest headset and that has not made any difference. 

What else can I try?

Hi @grant.glendinning Sorry to hear that you're having a trouble with the Meta Quest 2 right controller. Before we look into your issue, if you could confirm the below:

  • Tried removing unsupported third-party accessories that may affect power, battery fit, or controller detection. For instance, rechargeable grips, controller covers, etc.
  • Tried changing the controller battery and then checking if the LED status blinks, remains solid, or doesn't project light at all.
