Quest 2. Set up an account with my email. unable to add second account to headset.

Setting up second account.

I have gone through the initial process of adding an account to the headset.  It keeps having me enter the code in meta.com device, tells me it's connected and ready to set up and to go back to the headset.  When I do it's trying to set up a boundary and returning to the settings page I begin trying to add account again, repeat results.

Hey Ejgma! We see that you are having issues with setting up a second account. No worries, we will make sure to get you pointed in the right direction. If you can we would like to ask  you to try the following:

  • After adding the account, when it takes you back to boundary, go ahead and go through the process of setting up the boundary. Each account will require this.
  • If after setting up the boundary you still can not continue, please sent us a screenshot of what it is you are seeing after the boundary setup.
  • Also try uninstalling and reinstalling the app. This sometimes helps.
  • Try setting up the account on a different mobile device. If you are using a phone, try a tablet or PC.

Let us know if any of this helped.

I have the same issue.  I go to www.mega.com/device and enter the 8-character alpha/numeric code and it says go back to your headset.  So I put on the headset, and I set my boundary and the other initial steps.  At that point, I am thinking it is going to ask me my name and other user preferences but it sits there with the main menu in front of me.  If I go to the account setup screen, r still does not ask me for me name, etc.  if I click on “add an account”, it again instructs me to go to “www.meta.com/device” and enter a new 8-character alphanumeric.  Just a never ending loop.

Hey KirbyCarol! We understand the importance of getting you up and going so you can enjoy your device and being stuck in a loop is not the experience we want you to have. We did want to ask if you were able to try the steps offered above about adding an account while on the device. If you have and are continuing to have issues, we would like to get you over to our support team. You can do this by going here and creating a ticket. Once you do this you will be connected with one of our specialists who will be able to assist you further. We hope to hear from you soon.

Having the same issues as KirbyCarol.  I purchased 2 MQ's for my family.  I have been stuck in the endless loop of entering the 8 digit code and it not working.  HELP!!!

Used a computer to connect headset. In headset set a new boundary and it takes me to the main page telling me about new games available. I did delete Meta from my phone then added it again. Not sure that’s same as uninstall? Still unsuccessful in adding account.

Hey there, @Ejgma! We noticed that you are having some issues with adding a second account to your Quest 2. We definitely understand how inconvenient something like that can be and we'd love to help you get this issue resolved! We appreciate you taking the initiative and trying out the troubleshooting steps that you have done. We'd also like to recommend a Factory Reset at this point since we have seen some of our users have success when doing that. Please follow the instructions provided below:

  • Turn off your headset.
  • Hold the power and volume down (-) button on your headset down simultaneously until the boot screen loads on your headset.
  • Use the volume buttons on your headset to highlight Factory Reset and press the power button.
  • Use the volume buttons on your headset to highlight Yes and press the power button.

Performing a Factory Reset will delete all headset content and in-game data, to be started up as if brand new. Purchases previously made will still be linked to your Meta account. In regards to your in-game data, we do have a Cloud Backup which developers can choose to opt-in and out of anytime. The developers can also choose exactly what they would like to be uploaded to the Cloud.

Please let us know if this worked for you! We will be standing by just in case further assistance is needed.

Hi there, I cannot even get my device to get to the boundary screen. I am constantly just entering and reentering the device code and it keeps saying error try again, this is VERY FRUSTRATING!!!!!!!
