After a week of troubleshooting I'm turning to the forums for answers.
Picked up my Quest 2 last week and have been trying to pair it with SteamVR but I'm constantly met with freezing in the headset after a couple of seconds. Freezing always looks the same, image infront of me frozen and when I look around its all black and glitchy, behind me is the image in front, upside down frozen. The interesting thing here is the SteamVR VR view is working fine, it shows everthing loading in and even my controllers tracking.
I've also tried the Quest 2 on a friends PC with no issues, SteamVR booted up fine and games worked instantly.
Troubleshooting i've tried....
Fresh windows install back to windows 10, updated drivers for chipset and Bios, disabled game overlays, updated graphics drivers, tried a second cable (cable test alwasy hits 3.2+ Mbps), tried multiple usb ports, tried airlink on 5ghz with ethernet connection on a high-end new wifi 6 router, factory reset quest 2 and fresh installed oculus PC program, tried Beta versions of SteamVR and PTC on Quest 2, Messed with resolution settings for the quest and my monitor.
PC is no slouch either... MSI Suprim RTX3080, Ryzen 5 5600x, 32gb 3200Mhz RAM, Windows 10, 1tb SSD
Anyone else had similar issues and fixed them? I'm losing hope
TL:DR - Quest 2 steamvr works on friend's PC, freezing on mine with link and airlink, tried almost everthing...
Hey there, @MullacgeM! Are you having this issue when you are trying to connect to the Oculus app on both PCs as well? If you're not, and you're also able to connect to Steam VR on your friend's PC but not yours, the issue may be on Steam's side.
