So basically couple days ago I booted my quest 2 as usual, after connecting it to pc I noticed on both lenses right side a lot of artifacts started to flicker, more noticeable on darker backgrounds, I assume it's new software issue? (classic) Had no issues before and I'm not even talking about guardian flying away or changing positions when taking of headset for 10 seconds.
The funny thing is when i try to use casting via phone, artifacts magically disappears.
I see a lot of people having same issue, I guess i'll just leave this here so they can fix this bs faster.
Tried:
Factory reset
Uninstalling, reinstalling, beta version of oculus
Disabling Mobile ASW
OCULUS Link
Air link

This is happening to me also. It seems to only do it when i use steam vr though which sucks because i stream most of my games from my pc. I noticed when i did some digging that my quest updated itself to the new version so I assume it has something to do with that. I am so sick of these forced updates i was really stoked to get a quest 3 when it launches but I think I am going to look at other vr options.

It has nothing to do with steam.....it's just happens when you linking the Headset to pc.
Those flickering dots are also there when playing a game from oculus library without opening steam.

I dont play through the oculus library(unless you mean virtual desktop as it is in my oculus library?). I play through either steam or mod organizer 2 ( which starts steam automatically if its not already running as well as steamvr when I launch skyrim vr or fallout 4 vr). I agree with you about it not being a steam issue though because it has worked fine up until this last oculus update.
Edit: Also my quest is over a year old and i play it almost daily hope its not a hardware issue 😞

No, I don't think it's an hardware issue.
Many people complain about this problem. I can not imagine that all headsets are broken at the same time😂
Let's hope things get better with the next update.👍
