Quest 2 beeping nonstop and constantly connecting and disconnecting when using the link cable

This is not an issue on other computers. I reinstalled Meta Quest link. The quest does not show up in the windows file manager, but it does show up in device manager. The quest itself recognizes the PC, but not for long enough that I can respond to any of the prompts. The PC is the one beeping, I believe. I have tried multiple USB ports and cables.

Hi @Leaf_Hurricane!

Thank you for bringing this issue to our attention. We totally get it, it's frustrating when your cable keeps disconnecting and you keep hearing that beeping.

Frequent disconnection of the USB cable and constant beeping when using Meta Quest Link can be caused by faulty cables, software problems, or driver conflicts. Since the problem does not occur on other computers, the issue may lie with the PC.

Here are some troubleshooting steps to try:

  • Make sure you're using a USB 3.0 or USB 3.1 port on your PC.
  • Test different ports: Try plugging the cable into different USB ports on your PC to see if one port is more reliable.
  • Temporarily disable firewall/antivirus
  • Make sure you USB ports and graphic card drivers are up to date.
  • Make sure your operating system is up to date
  • Repair the Meta Quest Link app
  1. Go to https://www.meta.com/quest/setup and click Download software.
  2. Select Repair.
  3. If Windows asks you if you are sure you want to open this file, click Yes.
  4. If Windows Defender prompts Windows protected your PC, click More info, and then click Run anyway.
  5. If your antivirus software restricts the file from opening, temporarily disable your AV and continue. Please remember to re-enable your antivirus software once you have completed the repair.
  6. Allow the repair process to run, download and install.
  7. Launch the Meta Quest Link app.
  • Install the latest Meta Quest drivers.
  1. Close the Meta Quest Link app.
  2. Press the Windows key + R on your keyboard to open the Run command.
  3. Enter C:\Program Files\Oculus\Support\oculus-drivers. (File path may be different per user based on the install location)
  4. Open oculus-driver.
  5. Open the Meta Quest Link app and then try to connect your headset again.
