Quest 2 controller won't turn on after factory reset

Quest 2 right controller won't turn on after factory reset. 

  • tried unpairing the controller to repair and now the controller doesn't evens show up in the app
  • Tried manually updating the quest 2 to see if that would work
  • Tried replacing batteries with new batteries
  • Tried taking battery out for 30 mins and reinserting
  • Tried cleaning the connections
  • Tried Factory Resetting another time

Support wants me to buy a refurbished controller but this is a known issue and im hoping someone has found a solution.
