Hey there, @Bossman71717262! We appreciate you reaching out to us concerning the glitch you're experiencing with your character on Quest 2. We're eager to lend you a hand, but for better understanding, we kindly ask that you answer the following questions:

  • What game or app are you playing or using when this glitch occurs?
  • Does the glitch only occur when playing that game or using that app? Does it happen in the home environment or within menus?
  • When was the last time you were able to play Quest 2 without this glitch occurring?
  • Are you using third-party accessories or covers with your device?
  • Are you experiencing this issue with both controllers?
  • Has your play area changed recently?
  • Have you tried different play spaces?

With these answers, we'll have a better understanding of how to remove the glitch and get you back to gaming in VR! We're looking forward to hearing back from you!

I'm having a similar issue where one hand (usually right) goes just randomly up in the air but I can still use it (not sure if it's similar) for me it mainly happens in the main like home room but not sure! I just got a Meta quest 2 literally today so it might just be the headset or my lighting maybe? hope you've figured it out by now tho!! I know I'll probably fix my issue and hopefully you do yours 😞

Hey there, @muncheez! Having your new Quest 2 experience your controller tracking flying away in this manner is not what we would like to see, so lets do what we can to get this working better for you! Lets make sure your play area is set up correctly to avoid the most common causes of tracking issues such as this.

  • Playing environment is too bright, oversaturating the camera, or has interfering lights - try turning off some lights, or reduce sunlight via curtains.
  • Playing environment is too dark, preventing the tracking cameras working properly due to lack of lighting - Increasing the amount of light or sunlight available in the area.
  • Playing environment contains reflective surfaces, interfering with the tracking cameras - covering reflective surfaces or moving to a new play location.
  • Playing environment does not have enough contrast between objects or textures composing it - moving to a different play location.

If you are able to set up your play location following the information above to create an optimal play area for your device, and you are still running into this issue with your tracking, please let us know and we can provide some troubleshooting for you!
