Quest 2 display turning off, having to press the power to show display again?

On my Meta Quest 2, its display will randomly turn off, and after a few seconds go into sleep mode. I have to manually press the power button for the display to turn back on. Mildly irritating.. I’ve rebooted my Quest several times and it keeps happening. What do I do now?

Hi there,

It sounds like your headset has taken on a will of its own!

Hopefully, we will be able to resolve that and get you back into the game in no time.

 

Firstly we would suggest checking general troubleshooting.

  • Make sure the device is fully charged, and that all updates have been applied.
  • Check that the power button isn't sticking, or caught.
  • Change the power saving Sleep Mode Settings to anything over 15 seconds.
  • Hard Reboot the headset

You can also check that the Proximity Sensors aren't causing the abrupt shutdown.

  • Verify that the facial interface, or if using eyeglass spacers, that they are seated correctly, and not blocking sensor.
  • Or that anything is getting inside the headset under the facial interface, such as hair.

Well, even after everything, its still struggling to keep itself on! I gave it some time after checking through everything, even cleaning its lens to see if that has any correlation to why its happening.. but its still going on.. where do can I reach out to you guys at?
