Quest 2 menus only appear for split second

Blueberry__VR

When I put the quest up to my face, my menu and background appear for a split second and then it switches to an empty view of my environment. The boundary circle is visible but I can’t do anything, the menu button doesn’t work, and I can’t access anything. I can remove the quest from my face and put it back and see the menu again for another split second, and then it’s back to the empty environment with a boundary.

I have power cycled numerous times, tried logging out of the app and back in, and am not sure what else to attempt other than a factory reset. Unfortunately I don’t think my cloud backup is on.

also if I spam the power button like crazy it will occasionally say “system ux keeps stopping”

Thank you @Blueberry__VR for providing us with an update. We have a couple more questions to get a better understanding of why this issue may be occurring:

  • Do you have your headset and your phone connected to the same network? If not, please connect both to the same network and try accessing the menu.
  • Do you have any third party accessories attached to the device? Try removing those and see if that helps.

If you are still having issue with accessing the menu, please complete a factory reset following the steps provided in this link. Let us know if this helps. We are eager to hear from you!

Hi there, @Blueberry__VR! Thanks so much for sharing this experience with the community. We certainly know how fun our virtual environment is, and we'd love to lend a hand in getting yours back into view! To start us off, can you let us know this additional information:

  • Is the headset fully charged? (2+ hours via a wall outlet)
  • Are the headset and the Meta Quest mobile app up-to-date?
  • Have you also attempted booting your headset?
    1. Turn off your headset.
    2. Hold the power and volume (-) buttons on your headset down simultaneously until the boot screen loads on your headset.
    3. Use the volume buttons on your headset to ensure Boot Device is highlighted, and press the power button.

Yes. Tried all that. Power and volume buttons only bring up a reboot screen after about 5 seconds which asks if I want to reboot or power off; or it just reboots without offering anything.

I did have a peripheral battery attached. Detaching it solved the problem. Thank you.

We are happy to hear this @Blueberry__VR! Thanks for the update!
