Quest 2 not connecting to pc via air link or cable

cockmock

My quest 2 will not connect to my pc by air link nor cable. My pc meets the requirements for pcvr but it will still not connect. I've tried developer mode on my headset, installing adb drivers on my pc, letting ovrserver through my firewall, reinstalling the oculus software and resetting my pc and headset multiple times but still nothing. On the quest link popup its just stuck on "searching for pc's". I plug in the link cable into a 3.0 port and i have confirmed the cable does indeed work but it just wont connect. any help?

Hey there, @cockmock, we see that you are having some issues getting your Quest 2 to connect to your PC. We are happy that you are attempting to enjoy PCVR and would love nothing more than to assist you in getting you on your way. Firstly, can you answer the following questions?

  1. Have you updated your Quest 2?
  2. Does the headset work in standalone mode (not trying to connect to your PC)?
  3. Are you using the provided USB-C cable for the link, and if not, are you using a USB-C cable that allows 2-way communication?
  4. Have you been able to connect to your PC before using either Air Link or Quest Link?

We hope to hear from you soon!

I tried everything that was suggested anywhere I could find and I'm having this problem. I just bought a cable specifically for this but it won't work and neither will air link

Hey @CRAZYTRAIN1916. We see you've put in a lot of effort into solving this issue with your PC and headset. Have you considered the following?

  • Check your drivers and make sure they're up to date.
  • Check the debug tool to see if this offers a resolution to the issue. Directions here.
  • Make sure your graphics card is up-to-date as well.
  • Check for compatibility requirements as well. Directions here.
  • Lastly, have you considered doing a soft reset and/or a factory data reset? These may solve your issue as well. Directions here.

Again, we're here to support you in the best way possible, so if these steps or suggestions do not work after applying them or you've already ran through all of these options, please don't hesitate to reach back out. We hope to hear from you soon.
