Quest 2 not displaying steam game on headset

HI i recently purchased a oculus quest 2 and a pc link cable.  i have a PC that exceeds the requirements and a supported GPU.  I downloaded Steam VR and Skyrim VR through steam and cant get it to display on the headset.  steam vr recognizes and responds to the movement of the controllers and displays the game on the PC but not on the VR headset.  A little box popped up in the bottom right of my pc saying that the oculus hardware was not funtioning properly and brought me to a list of troubleshooting but nothing listed matches my problems and it doesnt give any kind of error code to try and narrow down the problem.  please help!

you got to install the oculus pc app on your pc, enable outside sources in the general tab, then launch steamvr throught the oculus pc app

i have the oculus pc app installed.  i cant use anything on it through the headset either.  i just see black and and my blue stationary zone.  i also dont see an allow outside sources option.  there is an unkown sources option...if thats what your talking about i already have it enabled.

Have you solved this yet? For me, it helped to verify integrity of files for both oculus 2 and steam vr, and get a proper cable that is compatible with the headset, but definitely make sure to check that the USB is connected to a solid USB port that will properly run the hardware. It was a problem for me to have the USB connected to the back of my PC where it lined up my CPU or GPU directly. It also helped for me to open oculus first, open my headset and connect, and then open steam vr and launch the game from in there if the game is running poor. Let me know if this helped or you figured it out already.

Bumping this thread...

I am having this issue.  I have the Oculus link running. I start SteamVR from the Oculus PCLink. i can start VRChat, works great! I can start Epic Roller coasters. Works great. Aircar. Works.  All SteamVR games. But there are some titles that are VR, but only show in a window on the desktop, but never engages the vr mode on the headset. The only thing i can see is that the game requires a game controller. which i dont have (yet). is this one (minor) thing the reason it doesnt go full vr?

Did you ever manage to get the issue resolved or are you still facing the issue? I myself am having this issue, and it seems to be all VR games on SteamVR so far (War Thunder, No Man's Sky, and VRChat). I did manage to launch Steam's VR media player.
