Was playing Thrill of the Fight 2 and my quest 2 died mid game so I plugged it in and it has been boot looping ever sense on the Meta logo with horizon os under it. When I open the dev menu factory reset and everything else, it just takes it back to the boot loop. Not in a position to buy a quest 3 so really hoping this is not it for my 4 year old head set.

@Shorse.exe unfortunately, this sounds like the classic meta logo boot loop of death. There are posts all over this forum and reddit without any fix for the problem. Hopefully, your headset is still in warranty, and it's still worth contacting meta quest support for assistance.

fixed it by opening the headset up and disconnecting the battery from the main board for a bit, works perfectly now

@Shorse.exe I bought a really cheap Quest 2 with the meta logo boot loop of death off ebay, just to see if if I could get it working. I did all the button presses, it didn't even register as a device on the quest update tool it didn't register as a device when trying to sideload the latest version of firmware onto it using cmd prompt.
And yet, disconnecting the internal battery from the PCB got it up and running again. Now I have a spare Quest 2.
