Quest 2 won't connect to new wifi networks

I'm not sure when this started happening, but my quest 2 connects only to networks it has connected to before,  not to new ones, when i click connect it just closes the menu and does nothing. I've tried connecting to a windows 10 hotspot and a router and both don't work, while they work fine for all other devices.

Hey there, @trapanicalcio! Thanks for reaching out to us about your quest 2 not connecting. We do have some things we can try here. We have an article with Wifi troubleshooting steps. Hard Reboot is going to always be the first step we try. Because Turning it off and on again can resolve a lot of weird one off issues:

  1. Hold down the power button on your Meta Quest headset.
  2. Continue holding until you see a prompt in VR to reboot your headset.
  3. Select reboot, then try connecting to Wi-Fi again.

If this fails, can you try using your mobile device and the quest mobile app to connect?

  1. Turn on your headset and open the Meta Quest mobile app on your phone.
  2. Tap Devices in the bottom menu, then select the headset that you are currently using.
  3. Tap Wi-Fi.
  4. Tap the new Wi-Fi network you’d like to connect to and enter the password, if prompted.
  5. Tap Connect to Wi-Fi.

If this fails, if you have any 3rd party devices connected to your headset (anything plugged into your usb-c slot) please try removing it and see if this helps with connecting to the new Wifi.

After this we can try 2 different options. One is a Factory Reset. This resets your headset back to the out of the box condition. You would need to go through the process with re-pairing your headset to your mobile account signing in and setting things up again.

  •  Performing a factory reset is irreversible and will remove all account information, downloaded games, and content from the headset.
  • Performing a factory reset won't remove content you've purchased or downloaded from your account.
  • Performing a factory rest may result in loss of in game data if your cloud saves are not enabled.

The other option would be to follow the steps on the Wi-Fi trouble shooting page and contacting us privately: Click our name MetaQuestSupport > View Profile > send us a message! We can look at the information from routethis helps and get a good idea of what may be going on.
