Quest 3 - 2nd guardian issues

Gruntled

I currently have 2 rooms I play in in the same house and have set up guardian in.

My main room seems to never had guardian issue, but the 2nd room that's adjacent to the 1st room always seems to mess up where the room is off rotation (about 30-45 degrees) and also the depth is way too low.. It has the floor about 2-3 feet below my actual floor.   I live in a single level house, so not sure why the boundary i that room randomly does this and thinks I have a basement lol?    Rebooting the Quest 3 doesn't help..

Is there any way to fix the guardian in the 2nd room without having to delete ALL guardian data and start over?
I think that will erase my spatial data stuff as well for Mixed Reality?

The 2nd boundary is seeming to hold after I reset the floor and creating another one on top of it.  I haven't messed with setting up the spatial data and setting up the objects in the room again because it takes a while.

Do you have the "lie down" mode on?

If so, turn it off as this is known to cause issues, as I've experienced.

I could dream forever, and never stop. I could think of life and beauty, the stars that fade in the sky. The hearts of lovers, the dreams of dreamers.

No, I've never used that feature.  It's not on by default is it, or can another app enable it?   I can check the system settings anyway to be sure.   But if it were the case then wouldn't it affect all guardians in the house not just the one?

It's in the "experimental" tab but should be off by default.

AFAIK there's only one game or app that requires it.

It's pretty unreliable IMHO, some apps barely function with it, but in my case Superhot made me like 20ft tall, lol.

Hey there, @Gruntled! We appreciate you reaching out to us regarding the issues you're having with your second guardian. Clearing your boundary and creating a new one will more than likely resolve this issue, but we understand you don't want to lose your data, so we kindly suggest that you try the following:

  • Cleaning the tracking cameras by following the product care and best practices links.
  • Covering the reflective surfaces while playing.
  • Adjust the intensity of lights, try turning some lights off, reduce sun exposure, or use curtains or blinds. Turn some lights on and open curtains or blinds.
  • Play in a different location.

The steps above are resolutions that have worked in the past when troubleshooting. We hope they work for you, but if they don't, please clear your boundary by doing the following:

Bear in mind that if you have multiple accounts on the same headset, boundary history will be cleared for all accounts, not just the account you're currently using.

  • Press the Oculus/Meta logo on your right controller.
  • Click on the clock on the left side of the universal menu.
  • Select Settings
  • In the settings panel, select Boundary.
  • Select 'Clear Boundary History'
  • Redraw your Guardian boundaries by selecting 'Adjust Boundary' from the Boundary Settings menu.

Please let us know if this is helpful, as we may have some additional troubleshooting steps that could be useful.

Hey there again, @Gruntled! Before you clear your boundary or try any of our suggestions, please remove any unsupported third-party accessories that may affect tracking or pairing (such as controller covers, controller attachments, etc.). We're looking forward to hearing back from you!

I got the 2nd room boundary fixed by resetting the floor and then basically creating a new boundary over the old one, it didn't erase the first one that wasn't having any trouble.  However It did lose all the spatial data so I will have to set that up again another night if I want to do any mixed reality stuff again 😕

Hello there, @Gruntled! We just wanted to circle back around and double check that everything is working seamlessly now? Please let us know if you need any further assistance.
