I've been using the Quest 3 for almost 8 months now, and before i used the Quest 2 without any problems via Air link/same router/same PC...
This Saturday I'm playing Borderland 2 VR and on Monday the Quest 3 can no longer connect to the PC without any reason.
If I want to activate Air Link via the Q3, my PC is displayed in the Air Link Menü as before, but the Start Button for Air Link remains gray and it says "not connected".
I've already tried everything:Hard reseting the Headset, factory reset, router reset, PC & Quest 3 reset, Meta Quest Link restart via the beta menu in the PC Oculus APP, repair function of the Meta Quest APP, firewall completely switched off but nothing...
Then I read that you should completely delete the Oculus software with all folders and reinstall it.
I did that and lo and behold it worked, for exactly ONE day....
When I booted up my PC today and started Quest 3, the same problem...
The PC is displayed but the start button to start Air Link remains gray and it is not connected.
WHY?
Do I have to completely uninstall the software every time, including all folders, then reinstall it in order to be able to play via Air link for exactly ONE day, which has worked for over 3 years before (Quest 1, Quest 2, Quest 3) without any problems?
The connection works immediately using the original Meta Quest Link cable.
Virtual Desktop APP works also...
PLEASE Help!

I have been using VD for years and now we also have Steam Link that works very well ..
However .. I did find the odd things that ran smoother using Airlink and it was always available when i needed it also it is part of the Quest functionality so i do think it should be working as intended.

You think it "should be working as intended"? Idk what are you trying to say.
People here asking for help because it doesn't work as intended.
I just offered an alternative that's working fine for me.

I just noted it should work which i stand by .. Its been broken since V65 and were nearly on V68 now with no signs of it being sorted and like i said .. Some games do run better via Airlink.

Hi,
I had this problem with V65 but it was fixed from V66 onwards (apart from an unwelcome new post session pop up asking how the session was).
When AirLink was originally launched as an experimental feature there was a built in pairing expiry after a number of days (14 or 28? I can’t remember). This bug is like the built in pairing expiry had been set to zero days.
I did have to re-pair my Quest 3 to the PC in V66 but it has been fine since.
The steps I followed were:
1. remove the device from the Oculus App on the PC
2. go into Quest Settings > System > Quest Link and disable then re-enable Quest Link.
3. go to the Quest Quick Settings where you normally launch AirLink and toggle AirLink off/on.
4. In the Oculus App start the Add Device process to pair your Quest.
Once the device is paired I have not had it lose the pairing since V66.
Hope this helps!

The difference between experimental vs v65 was that you could just re-pair the headset without having to go into settings disable Link all together and the re-enable before you could initiate the pairing. Moot since it appears to be fixed in v66.
The nag post-session popup is annoying. I've reported "dissatisfied" with problem being the popups.

Meta! What a shame
Airlink used to work like charm V.56 and Quest 2
Now I have a powerful Quest 3 and the last V.67 ... as well as updated the PC Airlink app, and Unreal Engine to 5.4 ... Eeeeeverything updated...
And still Airlink lasts less than a minute before getting disconnected.
Come ooonnnn ... How many thousand millions do you need to just make Airlink work??

Hi @Kaeln67 please have a look through this thread and the solutions to airlink not working.

I have thoroughly looked at that thread, to no avail.
I have checked the latest version are on the PC and on the headset.
I have restarted computer/Quest 3/Router an unimaginable amount of time.
I really don't know what else to look into... The Air Link has never worked on mine.

Hi,
I found this after the last couple of days troubleshooting my Quest 2. I hadn't used my Quest 2 since December last year and now I am needing it for work again. My Quest 2 was working fine but now it's not connecting to my PC. I use Air Link as I never actually received any cable to use it via cable, so asking me to test with cable is not an option. I have followed many solutions to no avail. Then I stumbled across one that mentions to uninstall the Oculus software on the PC. Remove any folders in certain locations (mainly under ...\user\<username>\... ) for Oculus etc. Then download and reinstall. So this has been done. Firstly for some strange reason the installation was getting stuck at 97%. Finally after yet another reboot I was able to successfully install Oculus.
Now it's going through the usual setup. I can select Quest 2, however when I go to connect the headset it's not picking it up. Air Link is selected on the device itself but the PC is just not picking this up. This is very frustrating when I have work I need to test and complete for a project. The headset is at the latest update which is V68. The headset is being seen on the mobile and even shows me how much battery power is left on all parts from the HMD to each of the controllers but it's just not picking up on my machine. I have the latest GFX drivers and I'm using Windows 11 (not that that should matter). If someone is able to have some solutions I'd be grateful In the meantime I will continue to try anything to get this working.
Thanks
Shez
